I'm so excited about our current pipeline of games right now. Kung Fu Kittens, which is currently live on BackerKit; Gorgon's Garden, our cooperative tactical flirting game, and a 2nd Ed standalone reimagination of the OmegaZone RPG built on @nerdsomatics.bsky.social's Rule of Three.

Final hour for the early-bird free variant booklet for Kung Fu Kittens, my trick-taking game about elemental martial artist cats! www.backerkit.com/c/projects/m...

Congratulations to Astrolabe! cardboardedison.com/award It was such a joy to experience the game—such pleasing tangibility to the prototype and such engaging mechanics. And well done to all the finalists. It was a delight to take part in judging all these games with my peers.

Making art is fun. Making a product is a totally different thing, and it involves work, and work sucks so they should pay you up front

My tarot game The Old Ways Must Go is one of the many delightful games in this collection :)

Crowdfunding getting you down? Me too—what are y’all’s alternative strategies? One thing I’m trying is using itch sales of my prior zines with a sale goal to fund the print run of the next zines. Feels like lately it’s time for safe bets. itch.io/s/171885/tar...

Nobody is allowed to die right now, Yall hear me? 2 in 24 hours and 2 funerals this week. I need to beat the “it comes in threes” rule.

Had a lovely time in community last week: we ran a shop but mighty Tarot x Gamer event at our local FLGS Pure Panic and then jammed all day outside Peoples Book for an indie game fair. Thanks @stickydoodler.bsky.social for all your organizing and commitment.

A free local event next Thursday in Silver Spring. Come join the tarot / gamer party!

A playful game about a hella serious topic (power and non-consent), it's the thing I've had the most fun (yet) designing and testing this year.

Here's the list of 184 products from 108 of our member publishers we'll have in #Booth449 at #GenCon2025, including a link to download a 36 page PDF or ePub with short descriptions of all of them, in case you wanted a little travel reading. www.indiepressrevolution.com/xcart/Gen-Co...

Got my weird lil game about credibility and archival silence I've noodled on for two years out of playtest draft and into a TTRPG coherent form by using the @tabletopartsfund.org grant as a Real Due Date. #neurospicy #gamedesign

It’s finally here! Mechanisms as Metaphors: How Board Games Create Meaning takes a look at how board games make persuasive arguments, how they might move us emotionally, and how the ways we talk about the form might hinder its development. www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG4z...

Designed in the DMV is back out with v2 of our catalog of locally-crafted games! We're using these catalogs to engage local businesses and their customers with our creations. While the main focus is on TTRPGs, we also have a page of locally-designed boardgames such as Wingspan and Fluxx! (1/2)
