the phrase "lipstick on a pig" has always inspired a deep sadness in me. I think of the pig, looking forward to her big night out, and I bring myself to the verge of tears.

Aww yeah it's time for pitching my latest policy idea for AI regulations, we use the Blockchain for licencing training data

The WHO guidelines recommended that I'm not allowed screen time for two years, and I think I'm just acting out

And what ungodly thing do you intend to do with that?

The suspense, the chests of chance. I hope Rachael stays in as the drama will be delicious when they turn on each other. Also, she has played the best game so far. #TheTraitors

Sure wheat is great but have you considered how satisfying it will be to find wheat amongst a huge and overwhelming volume of chaff generated at extreme environmental cost?

The idea that people in the global south are going to remote into humanoid robots to be servants, sounds like the background plot of a sci-fi plot that ends in global revolution and civil war

The problem with AI companies is sooner or later you run out of someone else's money

So I realize I’ve reposted this all day, but I cannot understate the scale of this story. If Anthropic is spending this much on Google Cloud - or even 25% - the costs of running their business are never coming down. It’s a huge scoop, and the first real discussion of the true costs of AI anywhere.

I think that the American muscle car approach of chasing AGI with more compute, and synthetic data is doomed. The industry needs to pivot towards an efficiency driven with smaller more specialized models, a lot of cursor's could be done on device and only call the server for complex cases

Before Parenthood, I used to think "Baby shoes, never worn" was some sort of tragic elegy with implications of loss. Now two months later, I realise that it is just about the over ambition of expecting a child. Why would you put shoes on a baby? they can't walk.

I've made it 3 paragraphs in and already need a neck brace from involuntarily violent head nodding syndrome. I'm in vehement agreement and already have expanded my perspective too. Anyone know a good central valley chiropractor? Oh yeah, and read the actual post from @hazelweakly.me Just do it.

Say what you like about Liz Truss but when she crashed our economy, at least she only lasted 28 more days in office. This guy's going to need to be exiled or he'll try and go down like Porfirio Díaz

I've been wondering if AI slop will be the thing that finally kills the social platforms, the more of this uncanny souless bullshit that we are forced to see, the more I want to just go outside.

Have been having a generally nice time #onHere but have really struggled with a high volume of Americans making talking about the same thing over and over, and y'know I understand the whole protofash government takeover is horrifying to watch and all, but I have heard enough of the group chat

I say this with love, I feel like it is occupying so much mental space, but I would looove more Scottish, Irish & British skeeters to follow

I cruised the replies to another thread of a similar chat and somone was like "Have you unpinned the Discover feed?" And a light came on
