I listened to the episode of @thedigradio.bsky.social with @chactivist.bsky.social about the crisis of organized labor. I have never before heard a podcast where I vehemently agreed with some parts and vehemently disagreed with other parts.
If you put your faith in working people, you will be rewarded. Listen to Micah Uetricht and Chris Brooks on our latest episode, Confronting Labor's Crisis pod.fo/e/68a498

And I don't think it's helpful to pose the crisis as a math problem. Yes density is declining & unions don't organize fast enough to keep up with economic trends. But rushing to a bunch of fast wins doesn't move the needle. Big hard fights that engage a lot of people does, and those can take longer.

The part I agreed with was the discussion of (my late friend) Jane McAlevey's organizing methods and momentum organizing. I encourage staff at my union to read Jane's book "No Shortcuts" alongside the key momentum book, "This is an Uprising," by @markengler.bsky.social and Paul Engler.
Why you should only give to @movementvoter.bsky.social .
Just as a private equity firm buys out a corporation and strips it for parts, a consultant class is raiding the Democratic Party and getting “generationally wealthy” along the way New from me and @adambonica.bsky.social newrepublic.com/article/2163...

Mayor Lurie says he wants to make it harder to put propositions on the ballot to stop insiders. Which insiders? What ballot measures specifically does he think were done by insiders at the expense of voters?

@natogreen.bsky.social on fire on the @thebugle.bsky.social today. "Trump is taking the time-honoured tradition of blaming a Jewish comedian [Zelensky] for bombing"
If you’re a San Francisco voter and have been waiting for your Official Nato Green voter guide, here you go. I will entertain sensible questions in the comments. My positions are 100% correct. If you’re coming to shill for corporate dickheads, you need to DM me proof you bought my album on bandcamp.
I’m back on the Past Times @thedollop.bsky.social it’s always fun with @daveanthony.bsky.social and @reynoldsgareth.bsky.social check it out. open.spotify.com/episode/1CWN...

Everyone who works in the field knew and said at the beginning that bringing back the war on drugs wouldn’t work, but were ignored by ideologues like Lurie.

I just donated to my favorite political organization and you should too. I hate giving money to politicians and party funds that waste it on consultants. I give to @movementvoter.bsky.social that funds long-term organizing for power and winning elections. movement.vote

A lot of these shows were good but fell off. Battlestar Gallactica, Homeland, Ozark, dragged on longer than they had story to tell IMO. Also, no Killing Eve?
Just a bizarre top end of the list. Parks and Rec at #50, 30 Rock as the best comedy of the 21st century at #8? Fleabag at #5? Game of Thrones at #6? Girls at #13? White Lotus at #21? Black Mirror at #26? And I loved Succession, but #4?
Join me and the good people of @bayresistance.bsky.social to protest AI on Tuesday morning.
Speaking of Newsom helping Paramount and vetoing the bill to prevent extradition of abortion providers and the bill to prevent ICE agents in child care centers and and and and… some comedy.
