I voted early and enthusiastically for @hawkkoh.bsky.social I’ve had some people ask about why. He proactively stands up for trans kids. He will vote to expand the Supreme Court. And he is committed to labor rights and the labor movement in a way few DC politicians are.

Regardless of trans rights, gender policing in sports is racist and misogynistic. Women’s sports exist because women were not allowed to play sports. The entire purpose of women’s sports is that women are active people, not fragile objects. Anti-feminists have tried to restore control ever since.

I still can’t get over how the data Richard Dawkins relied on in The Selfish Gene changed once we had no-fault divorce and economic opportunities for women, and yet he absolutely refused to reconsider his conclusions. Some people are just sexists.
