Wow! 200 Followers! 🫢💦 You are all awesome, Thanks for thinking that’s [“an interesting project”, ”a cool artstyle”, ”a nostalgic feeling game”, ”a damn hunk/cute guy”, “an indie dev like me”] and pressing follow! 🎉 I am blessed by your interest in my work, I don’t take the support lightly! 🙏

⭐ - And now... A word from our sponsors! 🛠️ - Cleaning up rough edges today to get my #SRPG #IndieGame Demo Ready! Had to give the credits screen another run over, anyone notice any familiar names? 🩷

♻️ - Wanna swap places? 🩷 🔧 - Non-mandatory units in my #SRPG #IndieGame can now can swap positions with each other turn one! This ability only works for the first turn so make the most of it!

🛹 - Back to the Grind 🔧 - Menu flow is slowly getting there, controller interactions always make everything just a little more difficult 😅. 🍭 - Here is a quick menu flow showing Title Screen > NewGame > Difficulty > Naming Character > First Cutscene! #SRPG #IndieGame

💬 - Hang on? What was your name again? Worked on getting the name input screen for my #SRPG #IndieGame today... Still not done but its close! So far, It has both mouse and keyboard input and a controller interface.

🖱️ - Oh boy, what a drag! ☕️ - More QoL update work from Playtester feedback! Someone requested to use the middle mouse to move the camera... Why didn't I think of that! To move the camera in my #SRPG #IndieGame, you can now either use WASD, Edgescroll or Middle Mouse Drag!

🧽 - We have to make everything sparkle! ✨- Still running through and ticking off the to do list for my #SRPG #IndieGame. Not many fun updates... However, this update is! I made a "material" tile for the battle platforms which can sample shaders! Now units can fight on water!

🩷👩‍🎨 - I would love to give it a fresh coat of paint! 🔧 - Working on some combat improvements for the minis. Created a new system today to query and display different terrains on the combat screen and finally given some attack sprites for the magic attacks! #IndieGame #SRPG

Not bad… Not bad at all… #GMTK #GameJam

Nathaniel Jones | Dyadem@nathanieljones.au

🥳 - Created a solo project to submit to the #GMTK #GameJam. Overall pretty happy with it, was nice to slap something together that was not as intensive as Dyadem. 🔧 - Going to try add a few more tutorials before the timer is up! nathanieljones.itch.io/a-slight-ove... #indiedev

🩷 - I always feel better with you around! 🔧 - In my #SRPG #IndieGame when a unit is near a bonded ally, they will gain stats! Which stats you will gain will be determined by the Ally's spirit! 🧪 - For example, Corbyn's "Patient" spirit will grant allies additional Dexterity!

🫂 - You got a friend in me! 🩷 - Finally added support for... well... Support! In my #SRPG #IndieGame, I added a panel on the left to show current bond levels! Bonded units will buff each other when nearby! 🩶 - Grey hearts mean the unit has been defeated in permadeath.

🪲 - I'm fixin' for some bugs! 🔧 - Finally got around to fixing the battle fade bug. It messed up after the units got team colour shaders applied about... A year ago? 😅 During the fix expanded it to hide the range/arrow too! #IndieGame #SRPG

👤 - Who is that lurking in the shadows? 🎨 - I didn't like the escort icon. It was hard to see who you had escorted at a glance! So... Now it will show the character in the background and tint their team colour! #IndieGame #SRPG #IndieDev

🎬 - Places people! Prologue: Scene One annnnnnd ACTION! 🔧 - Converting the script for my #SRPG #IndieGame into conversation JSON. Also have been cleaning up some of the rough edges on the tutorial to make it clearer. Here is a bit of the first mission intro! (BlueSky didn't like the full version.)

🔖 - Who is ready for an Adventure! 🔧 - Experimenting with an easier story difficulty level named "Adventure Mode" for my #SRPG #IndieGame. In this mode you control a single "Leader" unit and the CPU will handle the rest of your team!

💰️ - Stealing? No... I consider it... aggressive window shopping... 🔧 - Needed to rework the trading menu in my #SRPG #IndieGame. It is still a little rough but capturing enemies and looting their inventory seems to be working just fine again!

⛵️ - BOAT 🔧 - Needed a frigate tilemap for a few missions in my #SRPG #IndieGame. Quite happy with the results! Still need to do a bit more work to finalize them but they are going to look great.

🗺️ - Give me a map and I will show you the world! 🔧 - I built a map for Mission 12 today. The tools I made in #Godot help making maps for my #IndieGame simple and fun... Even if I know I should be working on bugfixes today. Wishlist if you like #SRPG's like #FireEmblem!

💔 - I knew #Godot would eventually betray me :( 🎬 - Just another cutscene day for my #SRPG #IndieGame. It is always funny seeing temporary assets pop up in serious cutscenes! 🤣 On another note! Thank you everyone who has tried out the play test and given feedback, I have been going through it all!

*Cough*

😅 - ALRIGHT FINE! YOU WIN! HAPPY? 🎨 - I’ve had a surprising number of testers and comments mentioning they love the debug portraits… I won’t tell you how to activate it, but from the next build onward, there will be a way to unlock MSPaint mode. Happy Hunting! #Godot #SRPG #IndieGame

✅️ - Now that my #SRPG #IndieGame playtest is out and updated, time to get back to work! 🎬️ - It is fun making #GBA #FireEmblem-style cutscenes, The hardest part is now actually creating the writing and stage directions. I swear, developing the conversation engine was easier!
