🚨Are you a Black Catholic man looking for faith, fellowship and community? You’re invited to attend the National Black Catholic Men’s Conference! Titled “The Rock I Stand On,” the gathering will take place in Birmingham, Alabama, Oct. 15–18. Read more: buff.ly/a7TOCxj

Happy feast of Blessed Ghébrē-Michael! An Ethiopian Catholic convert, he served as a priest alongside St. Justin de Jacobis and was persecuted for refusing to renounce Chalcedonian teaching. He died a martyr in 1855 and is the only Black blessed or saint in the Vincentian Family.

I'm all about "Say the black; Do the red", but I also find it cool that the Catholic missal in other languages often does not say the same thing as the English. (Currently exploring the French one for funsies.)

Attending this Catholic conference, and Fr Carlos Martins emphasized that the "era of atheism" involved communist regimes that "killed" tons of people. Why do we forget that Christians in the same era committed similar atrocities in the Congo, Vietnam, Japan, Algeria, Namibia, the Middle East, etc?

I've now noticed multiple new songs/albums (that I like) from Protestants emphasizing explicitly that God is "a person". Is this theologically licit, given that God is in fact three persons?

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.
