feel like i've achieved pretty good results with a custom "floating origin" type of system, but i will still wish for a proper API to offset everything instead of station shenanigans. (insert ten different canny links)

the main thing i've learned making my music server is just how much variety there is in the brokenness of media files, especially if your collection dates back to OG napster like mine does

continuing the tradition of most of my bsky posts being bad apple on various devices (do things in vrchat count as devices?)

flip time is set to 200msec... real flipdots can do several times faster than that but slowing it down a bit looks better in vr

got enough subsonic api support done to get DSub browsing the library and playing tracks, so now that my in-car listening won't be disrupted, it's time to dogfood this fully

crazy how in the entire history of personal computers there has never been a better music player than iTunes, until just now because i started a new project

tfw your internet connected exobrain neuralink is assigned an ip address previously held by a now-terminated agent message board schelling point service and the agents are creating new ZZTaskHelpNeeded neikotic debris in your hippocampus faster than you can meditate them away

Did a QOL update for my Udon & Watch world. Audio is improved with a new pipeline and shader-based resampler. Audio emulation is now ~perfect and available on non-PC platforms. General performance improved as well

i dont want to finish any of my current vrchat projects because i increasingly feel like a fool for continuing to use and develop for this platform

i am really not a doomer and generally can't support or agree with the unbridled negativity towards vrc omnipresent in some circles but the vibes are really not good the last few months.

don't know how much to write on the subject. primarily UX/DX rot, updates feel directionless, new toys and bugs all the time while old bugs remain unfixed, funny admin tags giving special treatment, ... it's all so demotivating

was able to dump the original firmware by finding and exploiting vulnerabilities in the usb handling and in the vendor's isp bootloader(!) emulated, reversed the led matrix layout from the dump instead of manually tracing it, mame driver written, custom fw written

There's now a second copy of my plm2 power line monitoring software running in the wild, this one at @dd86k.space's place. It's so cool to see the frequency wander around much more on his, since he's on the Quebec Interconnection and I'm on the Eastern Interconnection. me on left | dd on right

Things escalated a bit

visualizer? trying to kinda track the ADSR envelope by sniffing opl3 register writes. definitely like the result better than doing simple protracker style bars that only pulse up at key-on

my phone camera has horrible A/V sync sorry, will try to correct it for future videos. kind of important for showing how a visualizer works lol
