Seems like #KubeCon has brought the California sun along for the week! Pro-tip for anyone that has not done England before - layers! It’ll be colder at night 😊

The recording of mine and @munnerz.bsky.social’s #Kubecon talk on “Kubernetes Workspaces: Enhancing Multi-Tenancy with Intelligent Apiserver Proxying” is already online: youtu.be/9otBF7iQJfI?... Missing already all of the hallway track interactions with the amazing folks there: see you in London! 👋

Congrats to cert-manager on the graduation!! Stop by their booth in the project pavilion if you can for incredible custom wax sealed certs that let you sign the guest book 💯

I’ll be speaking alongside @atosatto.bsky.social today on enhancing the Kubernetes multi-tenancy experience with ‘workspaces’ aka groups of namespaces at 11am in room 255B. Come learn about improving the end-user experience in multi tenant Kubernetes clusters! kccncna2024.sched.com/event/1i7nS/...

I’ve had a pretty tough year this year. KubeCon, & the thought of being away from family, was quite daunting and scary. Over the past few days I have had countless friends come say hi, congratulate the cert-manager team for the graduation, and shown interest in my work (whilst sharing their own!).

From quiet dinners with those I only see a couple times a year, to meetings about project ideas, to 3 different groups of people coincidentally flooding into a pizza restaurant and suddenly excitedly chatting until the servers ask us to sit down as we started taking up the whole place..

This community has been the vast majority of my professional career and I am incredibly thankful for all of you. On the flight out here I was already looking at moving my flight home forward and hiding. Now, I am excited for the next couple of days ahead. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️

I cannot express how much it has meant to me. It has reminded me not only of the fantastic people around me, but also how much everyone cares for each other in this community.

Merry Christmas #KubeCon! 🎄

With all these new followers in the #cloudnative space, I guess this is a good time to mention I’ll be giving a couple of talks at #KubeCon in a couple of weeks! 🧵

First up, a talk on proxying apiservers to create the concept of workspaces, or ‘cluster scoped views’ across namespaces to enhance multi-tenancy use cases in Kubernetes on Thursday, 11am in 255B along with co-speaker Andrea Tosatto! kccncna2024.sched.com/event/1i7nS/...

Next I’ll be talking with co-speaker Anish Ramasekar on securing node local agents like Cilium with validating admission policies to only allow mutating fields and objects associated with that node on Friday, 11.55am, 151G kccncna2024.sched.com/event/1i7qC/...

What happened on BlueSky over the last week? I’ve had a huge influx of followers for doing precisely zero. Hey everyone 👋
