Botanizer. I'm not mad, just irresponsible. Also not a person made of plants or a killer robot pretending to be human, honest. Wikipedia editor that writes about plants. I do comment about most things, but expect plant facts.

Don't go overboard with the food! This is about having something of an okay size to wrap. Six cookies or ~200 g of something is good enough. Don't buy caviar. I got plain inexpensive black tea one year and that was perfectly fine. I had too much tea and took it to work, but she knew I like tea.
Holiday gift guide: Give them something to eat and cash. Seriously. There is too much stuff in the world. Everyone eats. Learn what kind of treat they like and buy that and give them an hour or two of pay so they can buy something nice for themselves.
Β»The failure mode of clever is βasshole.βΒ« Saw an AI reply to a proudly anti-AI explainer of the giant pumpkin. So I blocked this asshole who is a "photographer". @looserooster.bsky.social
I packed them in slightly moist soil and put them in aluminum foil and handed them off to @tkingfisher.com I've never dug up my spring beauties before and it seems like what I thought were groups are actually single large tubers.
I still have one packet of Scutellaria brittonii roots to give away. I am wearing a black mask and black leather jacket. Say "Hi Misha" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutell...
Creative Commons pictures of living things in the last five years. It was a struggle to find high quality pictures of plants 20 years ago. Now I'm surprised if I cannot find a picture on iNaturalist and usually there is something that is free to use with attribution.
Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But whatβs something that youβve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?
Well, now the article about the Farallon Islands has a list of native plants in the Flora and Fauna section. When I looked at it last night it was a section of *lies* since there was no flora in it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farallo...
Don't [WP:CANVASS] Putting information into articles on Wikipedia is not a vote. It is about legal responsibilities (especially in biographies of living people) if it is truthful and not trivial. Editors are not supposed to go looking for support for their position on or off Wikipedia.
Yes, this is because I am slowly working my way through all the euphorbias looking for errors in Wikipedia. Every once in a while I run into something that makes me pause and go, "That's funny. Let's check other sources."
Ehhhh. I think I might need to send an email to Kew. It lists a natural hybrid named Euphorbia Γ inconstantia, but going to the original publication they cite, R.A. Dyer (1931) Records of the Albany Museum vol. 4 page 93, he is describing a species. Seems like an error.
This is the entry on POWO, if anyone is curious. powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:ls...
