the more time i spend hacking on the delta-shell codebase the more i realize what a mess it is. there's so much functionality that really should be abstracted into a component library but instead , css is just copied and pasted all over the place so there are a ton of classes that do almost the [ā€¦]

it's so silly that phones save every alarm you've ever set in a huge list. why aren't these ephemeral by default, and only saved when i choose for them to be?? i do not need to be able to easily enable an alarm for 3:40 am that i set a few years ago and haven't used since

my korg sq-64 sequencer has a firmware bug where sending midi nrpn messages is entirely broken ,,,, and apparently they have known about it for 3.5 years!! and haven't fixed it. aaaaaa

octopart's search is so wonderful except it does not let me specify a quantity to view component price at!! which makes me very sad because it's really good otherwise but without that simple feature it is not useful to me :(

tried to save a .org file in emacs , and the whole window froze up for a bit then gave an error with backtrace and a message telling me to report this to the org mode mailing list ,,,,

oh weird, the same difficulty challenge in chrome was completed in 3 seconds. it seems like firefox's javascript engine is very bad at competing these challenges compared to chrome's? and i know it's not some js error that would have prevented my phone from solving it at all. on my laptop with a [ā€¦]

set up my launchpad pro midi controller thing as a macropad for kicad so i can keep one hand on my trackball and one hand on the launchpad most of the time while working on boards!! at some point i will share the python script because for some reason there just isn't any existing tool like this [ā€¦]

i think i am learning nix the same way i learned rust , that is , hacking on enough random projects that use it that i gradually pick up bits of it and eventually will have to give in and read actual documentation

today i learned about `makeWrapper`! the fact that it is just a shell script and not part of the nix language scares me greatly. why am i writing short shell scripts in my nix flake (in `postFixup`),, this does not feel right

just spent a very long time troubleshooting why my linux audio output through my interface was crackling , changing so many pipewire and wireplumber settings ,,,, and it turns out , the issue was the specific combination of my thunderbolt hub and the usb c cable the audio interface shipped with [ā€¦]

to be fair to the thunderbolt hub it is also tasked with handling 1.45 billion pixel values a second. but also i don't see how it can handle tens of gbps of video data just fine but also adding a usb 2.0 audio interface on top of that makes it struggle
