Check your smoke detectors. They saved our lives this morning. What started as a small fire in this appliance, could have done so much more damage. We got very lucky that it happened while we were home and hadn’t left for work yet.

youtube.comLast Flea Market Haul of 2026 (For Real This Time)The last flea market haul of 2026, and this time I mean it. Everything was about $2 at the final Sunday of the season, and I finally found something I’d been hunting for years: a Steelbook at the flea market. A wild 4:50 a.m. wake-up got me out the door. Here’s what came home: • An accidental Ryan Gosling triple feature (Drive, The Place Beyond the Pines, Gangster Squad) • A $1 Stir of Echoes • A completely blind buy of High-Rise • The Raven, picked up while I’m still in my John Cusack mood • Crank and TMNT: Out of the Shadows • Two more seasons of ALF that I swore I wasn’t going to collect • A $5 poker chip case that I’m planning to turn into a John Wick display The flea markets are done until April 2027, so it’s winter hibernation and watch-list time. If you want to see that John Wick box come together with some 3D-printed Continental coins, let me know and I’ll make it a video. What’s the best thing you’ve ever found at a flea market? And has anyone else actually found a Steelbook in the wild? Tell me in the comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. youtube.comI Won a Giveaway! Rad 4K, Sexy Beast & Daybreakers HaulUnboxing the Vinegar Syndrome 4K of Rad, the Sexy Beast 4K Collector’s Edition, and a Daybreakers 15th anniversary steelbook I won in a giveaway. That makes it the first contest I’ve won since a Burger King Atari almost 50 years ago. Three packages that were supposed to show up on different days all landed at once. Rad is one of my all-time favorites, so I caved on a second copy and I’m keeping my Mondo steelbook too. Sexy Beast is a movie my buddy and I watched almost monthly back in the day. I found it on DVD at a flea market for a dollar, and the 4K was announced a week later. Then there’s Daybreakers, a vampire movie I’ve somehow never seen, arriving right on time for spooky season. Huge thanks to @QTheMovieCollector for the giveaway. Go show his channel some love and let’s help get him to 1,000 subscribers: https://www.youtube.com/@QTheMovieCollector Let me know in the comments: have you seen Daybreakers? youtube.comLast Flea Market Haul of 2026: $2 Blu-rays & a Sealed T2The last flea market haul of 2026, and the end-of-season deals were real: $2 Blu-rays, $1 DVDs, clearance Funkos, and the sealed Terminator 2 I said last week I’d never find. Vendors are ready to stop hauling stock around by October, and it showed. I picked up Billy Hoyle from White Men Can’t Jump and Sam from Trick ‘r Treat for $5 each. I knocked Don Jon and Chappie off my digital-only list, and took a $2 blind buy on Night of the Living Dead. There’s also a Kathleen Turner kick with V.I. Warshawski, ALF Season 1 (my first must-watch show), an ex-Blockbuster Dark Shadows for spooky season, and a Sin City Recut set that finally came complete with the graphic novel. Missed last week’s haul? That’s where I called the sealed T2 a lost cause. Some are all-time classics, some are cult favorites, and one I guarantee nobody else has on their list. Inspired by AJ over at AJ’s Movie Place, I dug through decades of rewatches. I go from The Godfather and Empire Strikes Back to Swingers, Almost Famous, Terminator 2, Good Will Hunting, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Crow and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Along the way there are stories from video store Fridays with my dad, sneaking into R-rated movies, and an all-night Blockbuster run after a shift at Camelot Music. youtube.comFlea Market Finds: $1 DVDs, $2 Blu-rays & a Batman BustFlea market finds are back! After a month away, I made a quick Sunday trip and came home with $2 Blu-rays, $1 DVDs, a McFarlane 1966 Batman cowl bust, and a stack of Xbox 360 and PS2 games. This haul is mostly second chances. I'm rewatching Independence Day: Resurgence and Tropic Thunder, finally trying Phantasm and Casper for spooky season, and picking up Big Miracle on AJ's recommendation. I also explain why Machete might actually be better on DVD. On the gaming side, I grabbed the full Mass Effect trilogy, Tron Evolution on PS3, and a beat-up copy of Star Wars Starfighter. That one is test material for my 3D-printed game cases. Big thanks to AJ's Movie Place for two of these picks. If you want the cases holding my game franchises, they're in my Etsy shop, MovieManCave. Which of these would you watch first? And be honest: would you have taken all 12 sealed copies of Casper at 50 cents each? Let me know in the comments. youtube.comI Bought Bootleg Marvel Blu-rays on AliExpressI ordered bootleg Blu-rays from AliExpress for the first time: all three seasons of Marvel's What If...?, a show that never got an official physical release, for $20. Here's what showed up, whether it plays, and whether I'd order again. I unbox all three seasons and look at the slipcovers, embossing, cases, and disc art, including where you can tell it's a bootleg. Then I put them in my Panasonic player to check menus, subtitles, and picture quality against Disney+. I also cover a couple of things that bugged me: a slipbox from the listing that never arrived, and Season 2's episode titles being entirely in Chinese. Shoutout to Matt over at Matt V's Movies, whose AliExpress video helped push me to try this. And since the slipbox never showed up, I might just 3D print my own. Let me know if you'd want to see that. Have you ever bought a bootleg because the official release didn't exist? What was it, and was it worth it? Here are the 11 horror and spooky season movies I've been saving all year, from Wes Craven's Shocker and Clive Barker's Nightbreed to Black Phone 2 and the Universal Classic Monsters in 4K. Some of these are rewatches I haven't seen since I was a kid, like Child's Play and Ernest Scared Stupid. Others are first-time watches, like Maggie and the Robert Englund documentary Steelbook. Plus there's our annual Sleepy Hollow double feature and Howl, a British werewolf-on-a-train movie that's becoming a must every October. Most of these were off-season pickups from Disc Replay, Hamilton Books, and flea markets, bought cheap and banked for spooky season. I'll report back on Wrong Turn in my Off the Shelf series. youtube.com10 Crap Movies I Love (Rotten Tomatoes Is Wrong)Rotten Tomatoes audiences rated all 10 of these movies 45% or lower, and I love every single one. From The Last Jedi and Masters of the Universe to Batman Forever and End of Days, these are the "crap" movies in my physical media collection I'll defend forever. I'm jumping on the 10 Crap Movies I Love trend going around the collector community. Some of these I've loved for most of my life, and I was honestly shocked to see how low they scored: America's Sweethearts, Bedazzled, Conan the Destroyer, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Jewel of the Nile and The Purge. I also get into why Batman Forever is the sweet spot between Batman Returns and Batman & Robin, even though AJ and I don't agree on that one. At least the first time since I designed and printed these boxes over the summer. I picked up a few movie Mylar off eBay, so I could celebrate spooky season.

youtube.comBlu-ray Purge: What I'm Selling After 4K UpgradesPurge day! I'm sorting through the movies leaving my physical media collection after 4K and steelbook upgrades, including Arrival, The Hobbit, a Pixar stack, Rambo, Commando and more. Here's what goes, why it goes, and what I keep as a backup. This is my anti-haul: a look at what's leaving the shelf, not just what's coming in. Most of these are $1–2 flea market finds that got replaced by a 4K, a steelbook or a better edition. A few are accidental duplicates, and one is a Rat Race I just don't want to watch again. I also cover where these usually end up (Disc Replay first, then Half Price Books), why store credit tends to beat cash, and why I still keep some older discs as a two-pack. There's also a digital code giveaway for Made in this video. Let me know in the comments: do you keep the Blu-ray after you upgrade to 4K, or does it go? And how often do you purge? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. youtube.comProject Hail Mary, Van Damme & Ernest | Off the ShelfThe September 2026 movies I pulled off my shelf: Project Hail Mary in 4K, Mandalorian & Grogu, Paddington 2, The Thing, and a Jean-Claude Van Damme twofer. This is the first Off the Shelf, my new monthly movie diary. The month runs from a heartwarming documentary (Life Animated) to Lionheart vs. Death Warrant, Army of Darkness, and an Ernest Goes to Camp / Major Payne double feature that hit at exactly the right time. I also cover a flea-market Rat Race that's leaving the collection, my second watch of Project Hail Mary before the steelbook arrives, and whether Mandalorian & Grogu was worth the wait. I log star ratings for all of these on Letterboxd: [link below]. If you like the Not Quite Human movies, my Disney trilogy video is here: [https://youtu.be/f2UzgycDaDs]. Let me know in the comments: what's the last movie you pulled off your own shelf, and did it hold up? And does Ernest or Major Payne win the double feature for you? ***ANNOUNCEMENT*** Coming on December 7th in the UK and December 8th in North America on #4K/Blu-ray dual format from #ToyRobotVideo: #Passenger57 (1992)! Always Bet on Black Former police officer and airline security specialist John Cutter (Wesley Snipes, DEMOLITION MAN),

youtube.comMade 4K Steelbook Unboxing (Lionsgate)Lionsgate just did what I thought would never happen. Jon Favreau's Made (2001) has a 4K Steelbook, and I've genuinely never hit "pre-order" faster on anything, Kill Bill included. In this one I unbox the Lionsgate Limited Steelbook of Made. Favreau's directorial debut and the closest thing we'll ever get to a Swingers follow-up (even though it deliberately isn't one). I talk through why this random catalog title means so much to me, what the movie's actually about without spoiling it, and how it takes some fun jabs at Trent - Vince Vaughn's Swingers character. This one's personal. I saw Made in theaters (drove an hour to the only Maryland theater showing it), still have the ticket stub, and have owned it on DVD and then Blu-ray (only ever available as a two-pack with Swingers until now). Getting it as a standalone steelbook completes my Favreau shelf. Have you seen Made? Is it in your collection already, or is this one flying completely under your radar? Let me know in the comments. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. youtube.comUK Steelbook Import Haul: What It Really Cost MeOne steelbook in this haul sells for $60–$125 on eBay, but that's not what I paid importing it straight from the UK. In this haul I'm unboxing two new release steelbooks (Annihilation and Arrival), a total blind buy on Minions vs. Monsters 4K, and two UK imports: the Eternity Blu-ray (never released on physical media in the US) and the UK-exclusive Cowboys & Aliens steelbook. I break down what I actually paid to import Cowboys & Aliens from the UK, whether the condition held up without any padded packaging, and the trick that got a region-locked disc to actually play on my player. Let me know in the comments — have you ever imported physical media from another region, and did it work on your player? youtube.comSean Connery 007 Steelbook Library Case HaulI picked up the Sean Connery James Bond 007 Steelbook Library Case at Half Price Books for $80. It's not mint, but would you have picked this up? This was a total counter-find during their Labor Day 20%-off sale. Marked $100, so $80 out the door. It's not mint: there's a dent on one corner and some scratches on the case, but the discs, spine, and steelbooks themselves are all in great shape. I break down exactly what's wrong with it on camera so you can judge for yourself. These sets regularly go for $160–300 on eBay depending on condition, and buying all six 4K titles individually would've cost me more than this bundle did. It's going to sit right next to my custom Daniel Craig Bond set on the shelf. Would you have pulled the trigger on this one, scratches and all? Let me know in the comments. And if anyone's actually tried popping a dent back out on a steelbook, I want to hear about it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. youtube.comReorganizing 1,000+ Discs in My IKEA Billy SetupThe basement floors are finally done, which means it's time to put over 1,000 discs, Steelbooks, and Funko Pops back on the shelves from scratch. In this one I'm walking through the mess: my desk moved into the 3d printer room, which freed up space for more shelving out front, so I'm rethinking the whole layout instead of just redoing what I had. I'm figuring out where the Steelbook case goes, sorting Blu-rays from 4Ks, and testing out an alphabetizing plan I'm not even sure I'm sticking with. I also check on the custom Steelbook protector boxes I made with Josh from the Steelverse after they've been sitting in storage for eight weeks and held up perfectly, stickers and all. This isn't the finished version. I already know I'll redo it three or four times. youtube.com$1 Thrift Store DVD Haul (Robert Redford Films & More)I hit up the local thrift store that is five minutes from my house, and walked out with nine physical media pickups for under $10 total. This one's a quick haul video: three seasons of Legends of Tomorrow for a buck each, a couple of true blind buys, two Robert Redford titles, and a 50-cent VHS of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi that I currently have zero way to actually watch. I also give a quick update on the man cave — the flooring project that was supposed to take three days took almost eight weeks. If you've been following the remodel saga, this is the first video back in the space since the flood repair wrapped. Of the movies in this stack, which one should I prioritize first? $1 Thrift Store DVD Haul (Robert Redford Films & More) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEQimz66_D4

youtube.comFlea Market Finds: $2 Blu-rays & $1 DVDsTwenty movies, under thirty bucks — this week's flea market run delivered in a big way, with every Blu-ray at $2 and every DVD at a dollar. In this one I'm digging through the whole stack: a Major Payne revisit, giving I Am Legend a second chance years later, finally getting The Judge and True Grit onto physical after owning them digitally, plus some deep-cut Disney white case additions like Sounder and Blackbeard's Ghost. There's also a scratched-up Ford Fairlane gamble, a sealed Milo and Otis, and my Halloween pick locked in early with Ernest Scared Stupid. If you've been collecting for a while, you know the appeal here isn't chasing new releases — it's the hunt, and finding stuff that either goes for silly money on Blu-ray (looking at you, Herbie: Fully Loaded) or that you just forgot existed until it's sitting in a dollar bin. Let me know in the comments — any of these on your own rewatch list, and which one should I watch first? youtube.comAugust Physical Media Haul: Kill Bill, Sisu & MoreI said I was cutting back this month, and money-wise, I actually did. Here's everything that made it into the collection in August. This month's haul is a mix: I finally completed the Not Quite Human trilogy (Disney movies that never made it past VHS, now digitized by a fan-run DVD site), grabbed some cheap disc-replay finds like Wrong Turn and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, picked up a handful of Blu-rays including In the Grey and a very-much-not-safe-for-work 80s guilty pleasure in Sheena. I closed it out with some 4K pickups: Sing Street, Lionheart, Sisu, and the Lionsgate Limited Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, which I still haven't found four uninterrupted hours to watch. If you want more on In the Grey, Sheena, or the Not Quite Human trilogy, I've got dedicated videos linked below where I go deeper on all three. youtube.comWhat I Watched in August (Sheena, Doug's First Movie & More)Seven movies, one torn-up basement, and a PG rating that absolutely would not fly today — here's everything I watched in August. This month I didn't have full access to my collection (the basement's mid-renovation), so this is a smaller stack than usual. Seven films, including finally completing the Witch Mountain series with Race to Witch Mountain, a Breakfast Club rewatch for date night, Guy Ritchie's new one In the Gray, some Broken Lizard chaos with Beerfest, a Duncan Jones favorite in Source Code, a very-not-actually-kid-friendly rewatch of Sheena, and Doug's First Movie. If you caught last month's video, you know that one was a much bigger stack, but there are a couple of genuine must-watches in here (Source Code especially). Have you seen any of these? And be honest — did you know Sheena was rated PG? youtube.comThe Disney Movie Trilogy You Can't Stream or Buy Anywhere (Almost)You can't stream it, buy it, or even pirate it. The Not Quite Human trilogy never made the jump off VHS. So I found the one place on the internet that digitized it, and it did not disappoint. This one's a quick one: my second order from a small overseas bootleg shop just landed, completing my set of all three Not Quite Human movies — yes, the 80s Disney Channel android trilogy with Alan Thick and Jay Underwood. I talk through what the transfers actually look like played back on a 65" 4K screen, why I went hunting for this series in the first place, and how I used Affinity Designer to build custom disc art and cases since the bootleg packaging itself wasn't going to cut it. If you grew up on Disney Sunday night movies, there's a decent chance you saw at least the first one and forgot the name for 20 years like I did. Have you seen any of the Not Quite Human movies? Let me know in the comments if you remember them from being a kid — I'd love to know I'm not the only one. youtube.com$1 Flea Market DVD Haul: Blind Buys & Nostalgia FindsEvery disc in this haul cost exactly $1. From a mint-condition 1966 Batman VHS to a sealed Cool Runnings DVD that goes for $60-80 on Blu-ray. This week's flea market trip filled in some real gaps in the collection. This one's almost entirely blind buys and nostalgia picks. Idiocracy (which still isn't on Blu-ray at all), a stack of stand-up and comedy DVDs, the Back to the Future trilogy for a buck, and a handful my wife picked out herself (yes, including the one where Chris Evans loses his shirt). I get into why buying on DVD first — even with a 4K setup — has become my way of testing whether a movie's worth the upgrade. If you haven't seen it yet, I break down that whole philosophy in "Why I Keep Buying DVDs (Even with a 4K Setup)" — linked below. This haul is basically that idea in action. Let me know in the comments which of these you've actually seen — and which ones you don't think are worth even a dollar. I always enjoy hearing which finds people would've skipped. $1 Flea Market DVD Haul: Blind Buys & Nostalgia Finds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiWxaAshonc

youtube.comMovies Have Different Versions. I Should Pick Mine (Not Censors)Between theatrical, director's cut, streaming edits, reissues, movies have different versions. I think I should get to pick which one I watch, not have that decided for me. This is part censorship discussion and part let me decide for myself what I want to do. In this one I get into why: Shout Studios cut a line from Reese Witherspoon in the new Pleasantville 4K, Crocodile Dundee's Encore Cut edited out the cross-dresser scene and the party groping scene, Disney+ crops Splash to remove nudity that was fine for a PG rating in 1984, and Netflix trimmed a scene from Back to the Future 2 and only shows one of 1408's three endings. Physical media isn't immune to this either. Dundee's new cut proves that, but at least I can still go find the version I'm okay with on disc. Streaming and sometimes studios doesn't give you that option; they just make the call and you get what you get. And I touch on directors re-editing their own work, like the Star Wars Special Editions, since that's a different version of this same question. This one was inspired by a series Matt over at Matt V's Movies has been doing on movies that are hard or impossible to stream — linked below and worth your time. What's the most annoying version-swap or edit you've run into? Let me know in the comments. @beccacaddy.bsky.social gets it completely right: 8K Blu-ray would be a solution in search of a problem that doesn't exist. Backed up by Victor Matsuda, who represented Sony in the BDA. www.techradar.com/televisions/...

techradar.com‘If Blu-ray has a successor, it may not be something you can hold in your hand’: I spoke to movie player makers and organization behind 4K Blu-ray about the future of physical media — and why it looks...I dug into the future of physical movie collecting with the people behind the technology.

youtube.comMy Basement Reno Turned Into The Money PitSomewhere between my basement and my sanity, I started living out The Money Pit. And it felt too on-the-nose not to talk about it. The backdrop looks a little different lately, here's why: my basement flooring project stalled out (mold under the old tiles, waterproofing folks not showing up until August), so everything's packed away and I'm standing on bare concrete. While I wait it out, I got to thinking about the 1986 Tom Hanks/Shelley Long classic The Money Pit. And honestly, if you're a homeowner, that movie stops being a comedy and starts being a documentary. Channel's still running Mondays and Thursdays no matter what the room looks like. I wanted you to know what's going on rather than leave you wondering. If you want a double feature, pair this with Moving (1988) with Richard Pryor — same "everything that can go wrong, will" energy. Let me know in the comments: comic books or movies for the background once this room's back together — and what's your worst contractor horror story? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. youtube.comJuly 2026 Physical Media Haul: Flea Market Finds & RebuysQuarter-bin gambles, a Criterion splurge, and two movies I had to buy back after regretting I ever sold them. Here's everything that came home with me in July. This month's haul is a mix of flea market luck (The Happening for a quarter, Blazing Saddles for $2) and a few bigger swings, including the Snatch Deluxe Edition and the Criterion Bruce Lee collection. I also rebought the extended edition Lord of the Rings DVDs I sold years ago and instantly regretted, picked up a couple of steelbook upgrades, and even hand-made my own Tron Uprising disc since it's never gotten an official release. If you've been following along, you know the room's a mess right now. We're pulling everything out for new basement flooring, so a few late arrivals (looking at you, Howard the Duck steelbook) are getting rolled into next month's haul. Let me know in the comments: have you ever sold something from your collection and immediately regretted it? And Kong or Godzilla — where do you land? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. July 2026 Physical Media Haul: Flea Market Finds & Rebuys https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbpsYxrSQOQ

youtube.comI Watched Whatever I Was in the Mood For This MonthNo theme, no plan. I watched whatever felt right this month. That's basically the whole premise of this one. This month's stack was pure impulse: a Richard Pryor comedy my wife rescued from a free box, a $2 flea market copy of the Evil Dead remake, a zombie train movie I randomly got the itch for, a full childhood rewatch of the Witch Mountain trilogy, the annual 4th of July disaster movie marathon, a long-overdue Braveheart revisit, a quarter-bin comedy find, and the perfect "don't make me think" Sunday pick to close it out. If you've ever grabbed something off the shelf just because it matched your mood that day rather than because it was "next" on some list, this one's for you. Half of these I hadn't touched in years, and a couple I almost forgot I owned. Let me know in the comments — what's the last thing you watched purely because you were in the mood for it, no plan involved? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters. youtube.comCustom Steelbook Art: James Bond vs Indiana JonesMy custom artwork for my James Bond and Indiana Jones steelbook cases are finally here. And after months of waiting, I'm ready to say which one I like more (or at least try to). In this one, I unbox my package from Josh and Hannah at The Steelverse, apply the custom sticker wraps to my 3D-printed library cases, and break down every design choice on both — from the Raiders of the Lost Ark poster up top to the "outrun the past" quote closing out Daniel Craig's Bond era. I also get honest about the sizing mistakes I made sending Josh my dimensions, and what I'd change next time. If you're curious about the cases themselves, I designed and 3D print these library cases and sell them on my Etsy shop. The link's below if you want one for your own collection. Question: Bond or Indiana Jones — which custom case do you like more? Let me know in the comments. youtube.comWhat's In My Unwatched Movie Pile Right NowNo script, no theme, no plan. It's just me and every movie in my collection I still haven't watched. This is a full, unfiltered walkthrough of what's actually sitting on the shelf. I go through flea market finds, thrift store dollar-bin pickups, sealed copies my wife added, and a few blind buys I might regret. Plus which ones I'm holding off on until Halloween season and which biases (looking at you, Ben Stiller) I'm finally letting go of. If you're into the hunt side of collecting, my flea market haul videos are linked below, and I've got a rewatch series going too if you want to see how some of these turn out once I finally sit down with them. Let me know in the comments: have you seen any of these, and which one should I bump to the top of the list? I'm trying to knock out at least one a week. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This channel is dedicated to physical media, movies, and the collector mindset — from Blu-ray and 4K collecting to room tours, home theater setups, and why owning movies still matters.
