she's learning so much about x509 certificates and rsa and such this week (yes i know the '4' incident was ecdsa not rsa but it's in the same neighbourhood and it spawned a fleeting interest)

here's a thing i learned that i didn't expect: apparently it's not uncommon to reissue certificates with the same keypair seemingly every github pages site with a custom domain (ie, not on [username].github.io) has used the same 2048-bit RSA modulus since 2024 (ty certificate transparency logs)

the certs get renewed every few months and they just... use the same keypair again and that's fine, i think, because nobody's factored that modulus yet (that we know of) and only github has access to the private key, but i guess i didn't expect it?

not sure about the third one, the fur's too yellow from the artificial interior lighting but if i try to correct for it then the sunlit background starts feeling too blue

it;s a really really good movie i just can't help being so autistic that my eyes latch onto the single-wavelength blue lighting in a scene that within the fiction of the film was supposed to be shot in the early '80s when blue LEDs weren't commercially available yet!

so i started playing Clone Hero 1.1 (the version with online leaderboards) with a fresh savefile ten days ago and i've already racked up more than 100 FCs*. at what point do i admit i may have a problem? *FC: "Full Combo", hitting every note in a song without missing or over-strumming.
