I always think of this in the context of @mitukhandaker.com 's Redshirt. I doubt the articles we wrote back then still exist but how quickly the limited viz into the system drove players to "its a bug" as soon as the behavior was unexpected - even when it was 100% sound. Apophenia cuts both ways

spoilers for tonight's talk. been thinking a bit about how downplaying guns in Indiana Jones unintentionally parallels Soft Body's development of removing more and more bullets and projectiles from the game towards the end of development. Most proud of 7 Halloween levels that had ZERO projectiles.
