Today is my first day at @GitHubNext.com! GitHub has been one of my favorite places to hang since I signed up 18 years ago(!), a mere month after its founding. Excited to join this talented team to try and figure out what comes next for our craft ...

It works by running a sidecar Node process next to the app with pi-durable then talking to it from the Rails app, streaming everything to the user. You write Ruby, use Hotwire, etc.

I am now running home grown… - launcher (Tuna) - tiling wm (dinky) - text snippets (Poof) - terminal multiplexer (fut) - email client (Snailblaze) - one-off code editor (Fst) - markdown previewer (Spellbook) - desktop+video recorder (Egomaxxing) - browser extensions (Sprinkles)

Too much of my life is done by "winging it." Being underprepared and then building the plane in the air. I'm good at winging it by now. That's all great. Good skill. But what if I was *also* good at preparation? What are your coping strats for controlling your (lack of) focus?

(If you're good at this by nature, good for you, I need advice from those in the chaotic arena with me. Fellow wingers assemble)

Maybe we're just confusing "reviewing" code to mean "reading" code. I'm not reading much of it now. Sometimes I read some of it. If it helps me review it. But I am *reviewing* all changes still.

- (ab)uses native Spaces - doesn't need SIP disabled - window borders built-in - tiles like dwindle, accordions like Aerospace - better - also worse

Today's agentic realization is "I should have all my servers and buckets and shit in some declarative ops setup." What's the most agent-friendly, low ceremony project of this sort? Terraform?

Bragging about code output quantity in 2026 is like bragging about how many expensive for loops you have running at once.

them: then Lincoln said "I'd spend the first 30 minutes sharpening my axe" me: *looking up from my bespoke, vibecoded, cross-platform, syntax highlighted, fully customizable axe prototype v0.69* huh

Annoyed by once again letting all hell loose because I double clicked a code file and now Xcode, VSCode and frickin' Adobe Photoshop anno '08 are jumping in my dock for 10 minutes–– I built a tiny macOS app for the ONE PURPOSE of launching AS FST AS PSSBLE. It's called Fst, it's free

Omarchy is good fun! Posting this from DHHOS (Not switching. Can't live without my beloved Tuna etc etc. But VERY interesting how different linux feels when agents can hold you hand. Used to feel like road bump city. Now feels like so much extra space for activities!)

THIS 30 MINUTE DISH WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE (it's just noodles and chicken) *cut to OP stuffing their stupid face, smacking their mouth, nodding to the camera like oooooh yeaaaaaa I bet you didn't see that one coming*
