That's what was missing a year ago when I started to build seaquel.app. I really wanted to use GPUI over Tauri, but it didn't feel like the right choice given Zed's announcement around that time. Things are different today.

Spotted at my kid's kindergarten today. AI slop is slowly making its way into my kids lives via adults that lack critical thinking, and I hate it. "Building Instructions Age 3-6"

Giving your LLMs read-only access to all production systems / services is such a game-changer. I may be late to that game, but I'm glad I joined 😂.

I need to generate some promotional videos, 15-30 seconds long. What do people use these days?

Make sure you read your agent's design and implementation docs. It's your only time to understand what happens since code reviews are done by AI as well, at least for me they are. Agents also generate a lot of crap, so correct them before the start the implementation.

I can't believe by far the fastest and most reliable LLM is Groq and they disabled their paid tier 😭. I need a p95 response latency of < 0.75s and Groq replies in 0.55s. Cerebras with qwen-3.8-27b is the next best at 0.8s. Does anyone know of a LLM that's super fast and reliable?

Real-time experiences Haiku 5.5 is built for latency-sensitive use cases like chat, voice agents, live support, and in-app assistants, where speed matters most. From their marketing site... Time to run my tests against it and see how it handles 100 phone calls.

199 downloads of seaquel.app today... nothing obvious in the logs as to where these people came from though. Enjoy your shiny new data management app.

It's been a while since I was deep in performance tuning for a project... Getting LLM response times from ~800ms to below 500ms is on today's agenda. It's for an AI receptionist for businesses who can't afford to miss phone calls.

✅ This thing now has AT Proto OAuth and I've successfully signed in with my Bluesky account! ✅ Created a new repo and imported a GitHub repo ✅ Ran 3 AI agents as a bake-off to propose a new feature ✅ A review agent checked each submission & picked one ✅ I reviewed the winner and opened a PR

I built something like that for a client earlier this year based on their requirements. Now, I'm building it with the developer experience I want. Two tasks before I can share a link: • Deploy to prod • Allow developers to run local nodes and use the hosted web UI brb 😅

Any small business owners around here? Good old QuickBooks decided to increase their annual subscription by 31.5% 😂. What are the alternatives people actually use? Is AI ready to build me what I need lol?!

I was laid off once in my career, for speaking up against using Deno and its security model 😂. Funny how things changed so quickly given today's end-of-life announcement. There's always Node.js 😅.

A bit of early morning @seaquel.app testing a day keeps the doctor away. I'm quickly moving towards the next phase where companies can have zero trust installations. Credentials are in a vault, Seaquel users and AI agents never see them 🔐.

This happened last night. When I woke up, I had DMs in Slack, messages on LinkedIn and emails. My takeaway? Canadian digital sovereignty matters to people. I'm working on a blog post to put my thoughts into words on how Canadian 🇨🇦 municipalities can decouple themselves from US 🇺🇸 ownership.

With plenty of planning, experience, and tests, you can do a two week major refactoring, ship a beta release and things just work. 2026.10.0-beta.1 is now available. Starting with that version, an Beta update channel is available for the people who only live once 😅. seaquel.app/download/beta

How do you migrate a @tauri.app app's Typescript code to Rust so it can be shared with a CLI, TUI, and MCP server? Step 1: Generate 500k lines of fixtures code Step 2: Migrate & write tests Step 3: Delete 500k lines of fixtures code

And the seaquel.app desktop client is now refactored to use plugins as well. For people with existing @duckdb.org connections, the DuckDB plugin is downloaded automatically on app startup after the next update. For anyone adding their first DuckDB connection, a dialog confirms the plugin download.

Someone who uses the @seaquel.app TUI for Postgres shouldn't have to download ~11mb for @duckdb.org support. DuckDB is the first plugin 🎉. Now I'm going to rip it all apart so Seaquel interfaces (desktop, CLI, TUI, web) are bare minimum, then download plugins on demand.

After a week of using Codex, it is clear their TUI is a few months behind Claude Code's TUI. It feels amateur and has features Claude Code had earlier this year. That was $25 well spent to know my money is better spent with Anthropic :).

I'm approaching the end of an almost two week Typescript to Rust @tauri.app migration and the results are even better than I anticipated. @seaquel.app queries are 20x faster and memory consumption has equally improved. Everything other than UI now happens in Rust, shared with CLI, TUI, MCP server.

Has anyone used @tauri.app to build Android and iOS native apps? Any examples I could install and look at? The impression I get is people have mixed experiences and support for native apps is meh at best. Maybe that's outdated info though 🤔?!

This is huge, IMHO! Wasm components will help Wasm reach more developers. I used it extensively server-side a couple of months ago for a n8n-style platform that executed code on devices, in the cloud, or self-hosted. All sorts of programming languages compiled to Wasm components.

I'm working on this. We're trying to build a developer preview of wasm components running in Firefox, along with getting good docs and toolchain support so that people can try it out easily. Should have more details later this year!
