big solitary cumulonimbus dropping in like a mothership. the scale of this is hard to grasp. that low ridge over there is actually some of the highest peaks in colorado, 8000 ft or more higher than this viewpoint. that storm is MILES tall.

i actually thought all those photos of fat bumblebees napping in a flower were some social media horseshit, probably half of them AI fakes too, but i guess i just never looked. i saw this one hanging here in the shade on a hot day barely moving for 5 or 10 minutes before going on with her business.

i made some unplanned carnitas last night, so breakfast this morning was carnitas & eggs tostadas. i thought it looked cool! it was tasty, but to be honest a bit dry. i should've done the salsa in the food processor instead of chopping it but i don't always make the best choices before coffee.

chili season is over, you fools!!! it is now.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................'𝑠𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛

i took this with my "shitty" camera, a cheap point-and-shoot from 2008 (which i just bought last year lol). i like the dreaminess of it, though. something about the texture of the water reminds me of a sketch or an etching.

can anyone recommend an image editing app for mac? i don't need much more than the default photos app can do, but some basic drawing tools at least. i'd rather not use adobe. what's the mac equivalent of paint dot net?

i've been meaning to get around to learning gimp for years! it's cool, it's cool. thank you, microsoft, for fucking up windows 11 so bad that i'm forced to learn all these new skills.

BEHOLD. every year i grab as much citrus as i'm allowed from the fruit basket my aunt sends us and juice it all into what my brother has dubbed CHRISTMAS JUICE. it glows with concentrated christmas power, and let me tell you it is some real holy shit on new year's morning.

it's once again that magical time of year when i spend a month telling myself "maybe if i watch a bunch of horror movies i'll come to like them." the stories look so interesting! but my closet is always so, so dark, and my glasses are never where i left them, when something half wakes me up at 3AM.

couple last beach photos before fall. lightning pics are of course corny and cliche, except mine which are sooooo coooool. i love the huge explosions in the clouds!! south carolina 2008

family trip. i remember dad giving me shit about fucking around with the camera instead of enjoying the storm in the moment-- a viewpoint i totally respect actually! but i sure as hell wouldn't remember anything about this if i hadn't taken these.

makes me think of how in the 2000s i went to see music 4 or 5 nights a week, hundreds maybe thousands of shows. and if i hadn't been so self-conscious about getting out my phone and taking a picture, i might even be able to tell you who i saw.

they dropped long rock jetties about every 1/4 mile to try to keep the beach in place. it's futile of course, but the rocks attract a ton of wildlife like these cockles. south carolina 2016

i didn't do anything to the color. that's exactly what it looks like, and i for one fuckin love their weird choice. it's around the other side of the block from the red porch house!
