Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.
I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.
The Democratic Party needs to get younger, feistier, smarter at messaging and more in touch with the electorate, both at the state and federal levels.
Democratic voters need to get more discerning about who they choose to fight against the rising tide of oligarchic fascism.

Our democracy is not self-executing. It depends on us all as citizens, regardless of our political affiliations, to stand up and fight for the core values that have made this country the envy of the world.
A barista at my Starbucks reminds me of Cameren. She’s not thrilled with the humans, but she loves dogs. We chatted before I head to a Protest. I cried as I drove away. Cameren would have loved a protest & would have made the best signs.

Justice Sotomayor dissenting on birthright citizenship case: "The gamesmanship in this request is apparent and the Government makes no attempt to hide it. Yet, shamefully, this Court plays along. Because I will not be complicit in so grave an attack on our system of law, I dissent."
Word is SuperValu/UNFI has been under a ransomware attack since Friday.
Company has been unable to function for two full days and grocery stores around the country can’t order anything or scan in their orders IF a truck does arrive. Grocers impacted include Festival Foods, Kowalskis, Cub, ect.
Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies.
They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.
To the world:
We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom.

Your American allies.
Disruption is all they seem to understand—so that’s exactly what they’re getting. For 14 hours, @booker.senate.gov has been on the Senate floor, speaking truth within the rules. This cannot be business as usual when our democracy’s on the line. Thank you, senator.
Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.
Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.
BREAKING
The SEC has just halted its fraud prosecution of Justin Sun, a Chinese national who has put more than $50 million in Trump's pocket since November through the purchase of crypto tokens from a Trump-backed company, World Liberty Financial.
Put aside the nastiness of this post, & the way in he attacks Zelenskyy as a dictator but says not a word about his pal Putin, & just focus on the way it is written: would you hire this weird person to work for you? Would you trust this odd person to teach your kid in school?
Better headline options:
US Retail Sales fell sharply as democracy began to crumble.
Economic uncertainty caused by a madman President impacts retailers in the US.
As retailers rolled back their DEI policies, consumers rolled back their spending.
One of the things I’m most proud of about my kids is that they are critical thinkers. They won’t agree just to keep the peace or accept something as truth simply because it comes from a person in authority & they’re unafraid to challenge outdated beliefs.
A great website tracking all the companies that have bent the knee to Trump and eliminated their DEI programs, and all the companies that have stood strong.

You should print out your Social Security Statement. Elon and who knows how many countless others now have access to your private information, so it'd be wise to have a record of it.

Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett:
"We are going to be in your faces, we're gonna be on your ass, we're going to make sure you understand that this is what democracy looks like!"
