I originally intended this to be a preliminary sketch for a larger piece. But after living with it for a few days I actually like it as is - scrappiness and everything #watercolor #watercolorsketch #watercolorpainting #watercolorcityscape #cityscape

Another plein air outing at Medfield State Hospital. #watercolor #pleinair #pleinairdisasters

Another short reel of a recent still life that was one of my favorites. Probably my favorite way to paint. #watercolor #loosewatercolor

A short demo of my most recent painting of this fabulous building in Weston MA. A bit larger for me - 15"x21". #watercolor #watercolorbuildings #watercolorlandscape #landscape #watercolordemo #westonma #campioncenter

It's been a while since I did any birds and it shows. Trying out some new New York Central paper today #watercolor #watercolorbirds #watercolorowl #owlpaintings

Not a triumph today but I learned I need to rethink what I'm doing here. #beachpainting #beachart #capecodpaintings

Finally done after several marathon sessions. Pretty happy. #oilpainting #stilllife #oilstilllife #lemonpainting #flowerpainting

Another day, another lemon. Going ok so far... #oilpainting #art #oilstilllife #chromamagic #stilllife youtube.com/shorts/XIM9z...

Some oils for a change. A start of a new still life with a monochrome wipeout. #oilpainting #oilstilllife #stilllife #oilwipeout #chromamage youtube.com/shorts/qh7i5...

Live demo of the new camera mode in ChromaMagic 4!

Some new ChromaMagic 4 videos are up on YouTube. New palettes and screens. I hate doing these but James insists... (not really) #chromamagic #watercolorpalette #watercolor #oilpainting #oilpalette youtu.be/puOEGgujZeE

It’s almost there!! Just the nail biting app review to go..:

I admit it. We succumbed to some Claude help for generating wall mock-ups.

Never been here before and it’s an amazing place. The Campion Center in Weston MA. Extremely windy so this is one hand on the brush and the other holding everything down #pleinair #campioncenter #watercolorlandscape #watercolorpleinair #westonma

Another day and yet another plein air location. Today was the Case House in Weston. Quite a busy subject so trimmed it down to the essentials. This isn't finished yet but the colors and shapes are in and I'm cautiously optimistic #pleinair #westonma #casehouseweston

Gussied around with composition a little bit on yesterday’s plein air. Has promise now I think #watercolorpleinair #pleinair

Crazy difficult this. This time I tried a sketchbook and sketch easel with pan paints. I thought it would be easier having a smaller setup. It wasn't. Hated it. Made it twice as hard. Loved the subject though the result was very so so. #watercolorpleinair #pleinair #trombettas

Another plein air. This time at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury. Quite pleased with this and has a nice sense of the day #pleinair #waysideinn #watercolorlandscape #watercolorbuildings #sudburyma

This, this is a proper #caturday! Alt text: @micheleclamp.com snuggled with the world famous #magicpuss, a dish of gummy bears and a laptop full of #chromamagic Beautiful!

Broke out the gouache on this one. Definitely brings out the light on that front tree. Probably putting the brushes down now #watercolorcityscape #concordma #newenglandwatercolor #watercolorlandscape #watercolorchuch

Feeling my way with these tulips. A starter sketch in prep for a tulipalooza #watercolor #watercolorflowers #watercolortulips #tulippainting

Last plein air session of the spring with Caleb Stone. Right in the center of Concord today in Monument Square. Trying hard to fix the light and leave it. #pleinair #watercolor #watercolorpainting #concordma #watercolorcityscape #watercolorlandscape

I had a quarter sheet with a wash on so tried a small version of The Old Manse in Concord (MA not NH). #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorlandscape #art #concordma

Plein at the Old North Bridge in Concord. Struggled to get something cohesive in this 96 degree heat #watercolor #concordma #pleinair #watercolorlandscape

Catherine made a wonderful video about #chromamagic . Couldn’t have done better myself! Wonderful job.

Studio piece based on a plein air at Codman Farm Estate in Lincoln MA. Big struggle this but finally got somewhere I think #watercolor #pleinair #painting #lincolnma #codmanfarm

Simple still life photo day today. Still using the led lights - just can’t get the shadows with the natural light. grrr. #stilllife #stilllifesetup #watercolor #oilpainting #watercolorstilllife #oilstilllife

Another plein air in Concord. This the visitor center at the Old North Bridge. Too windy for the bridge itself. As it was the easel was almost taking off #watercolor #watercolorlandscape #landscapepainting #concordma #oldnorthbridge #pleinair

First in-person demo for a while at the Northborough Art Guild. Great time (and the painting turned out ok phew!) #watercolor #northboroughma #watercolorpainting #loosewatercolor #loosewatercolorbirds

Today was a private lesson day and this was my demo version. A little stilted as all demo pieces tend to be due to breaking things down. But a nice informal arrangement #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorflowers #art #floralart #pansies #pansypainting #flowerpainting #chromamagic

Another plein air day in Concord MA. A lot more in this scene than I first thought and I’m not done yet. The light of course is all over the place. #watercolor #pleinair #concordma #watercolorlandscape

It's getting a bit out of hand but it is awesome!

Just some Friday noodling based on an Iain Stewart video. #watercolor #watercolorpainting #blacknesscastle #watercolorlandscape #art #watercolorcastle

It's coming...

Take two on the pink rose. Need to leave this for a few days to pass a verdict on this one #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorflowers #watercolorroses #floralart #art

Working through a possible class setup. Not the easiest of flowers roses. #watercolor #watercolorpainting #floralart #watercolorflowers #flowerpainting #art

Each morning, @micheleclamp.com gets the “treat mouse” out for the Chroma and Magic puss. We both sing “🎶 treat mouse, treat mouse! 🎶” to the tune of Street Life with Randy Crawford. So that’s how that’s all going. 🤣 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_... #cats #chromamagic #magicpuss #catsofbluesky

What I will do to avoid painting - part 37. I have a load of spheres and cubes that I use for painting practice. They've been rolling around in a cardboard box for years. Finally got round to putting them in racks and made some foam cosies to stop them rattling. Very satisfying. #painting

Rachel again today in portrait class. Good to have a second shot at someone. It was touch and go half way through but just about pulled it off. #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorportrait #portraitpainting

Another productive afternoon at Bob Collins' portrait class at Post Road Art. The lovely Rachel was our model today #watercolor #watercolorportrait #portraits #watercolorpainting

Ok. So reviewing yesterday's efforts much more work needed on the old drawing skills. Today - a quick #chromamagic demo on how much you can achieve with only a few colors and shapes and no fancy brushwork. #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorflowers #floralart #art

Tried a watercolor version of last week’s model. A little rusty but not too shabby I think #watercolor #watercolorpainting #watercolorportrait

A little Boston brownstone flavor after our trip to the big city last week. #watercolor #watercolorpainting #bostonpainting #boston #cityscape #watercolorcityscape
