I see that it is predicted that the UK minimum wage will increase by 3.9% in the budget. Surely this means that more people will be over the personal allowance and pay tax. A cunning way to appear to be giving with one hand (as employers pay the minimum wage) whilst actually taking with the other

It’s so difficult keeping up with Poppy Rage in the UK - I’m not sure whether I’m supposed to be angry about people being unable to sell/wear poppies or to be angry about the woke RBL and boycott the buying of poppies …

Serbia and Brazil leading the way - come on sensible Americans, you can do it!

People of a certain age from the UK - pitch me a more grotesque concept for a TV programme than the Black and White Minstrels

Who else agrees that there should be a basic literacy test before people are allowed to post on social media? Posts in capitals and/or misusing ‘their’ and ‘there’ or ‘our’ and ‘are’ will be the first to go.

His vision is failing, his body is failing, his mind is long gone. FFS Amurica wake up and smell the coffin!

If Trumpleshitstain dies or is pronounced insane before judgement is reached in his court case against the BBC will it continue? If it carries on and the judge finds against the tangerine toddler will his vile family of grifters have to pick up the bill?

Has anyone managed to wash the stench of Reform off them since the ITV expose’ on Sunday night? I’m still feeling deeply soiled.

My burgundy passport expires in March 2028 wouldn’t it be great if it’s replacement had some of its former value restored even if it is a tacky blue thing …

To whom it may concern. Next year I became a pensioner. I do not walk with a frame. I did not fight in the war. I do not listen to Vera Fucking Lynn or watch black and white films from the 1940s. I do not play dominoes or wear a flat cap. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Dear right-minded Americans - when your President makes a speech in public about examining arses (UK spelling) and eating lettuce then surely it is time to bring it to an end? Or are you going to wait until he’s examining lettuce and eating arse in public?

Millions of graduates are being ripped off by sky-high student loan interest rates. It's time for Andy Burnham to fix this unfair system in the upcoming Budget so balances stop growing faster than they're paid off. Add your name if you agree: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/an...

How do we even begin to rebuild the sort of pre-Thatcher world when there was such a thing as society and people recognised that they had a duty to look out for one another?

Is it me or does the Home Office give off an undeniable stench of officials ‘only obeying orders’? I honestly had hoped that a change of government might see a change in regime but obviously it’s not going to be www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

So farewell Kimberley Gargoyle. Greece will miss you. Not.

In the good old days, our beloved BBC (as it then was) broadcast a weekly Letter from America - the musings of veteran journalist Alastair Cooke. One has to wonder what a commentator of Cooke’s ilk would make of Trumpleshitstain’s present day empire …

Our local council has developed a fetish for painting red lines on the edges of pavements. Is this a thing elsewhere or do they have shares in a paint company? It’s a shared pavement/cycle path which I think explains the Slow sign …

The confected hysteria over a change proposed for three years hence - which if it had been introduced from next year would have meant a difference of less than 20p a week - is indeed something to behold …

Just waiting for someone to start screeching about ‘gold plated’ public service pensions which increase every year by - wait for it - inflation …

Today I shall be mainly blocking people of my own generation whining about the fact that Andy Burnham may have the temerity to suggest that the triple lock should be reviewed …

@bbc - you need to get your shit together on your online weather forecast. How does today’s graphic of sunshine and thunderstorms tie in with the actual forecast showing clouds til 1700, with a bit of sun for an hour, then rain and a thunderstorm at 1900?

Today I discovered that canned condensed cheddar cheese is a thing in Amurica. No wonder Trumpleshitstain got a second term as President …
