Genuine emotion in federal parliament today for Helen Haines. To be more than mere words though, government & opposition need to lift their integrity bar to that which Dr Haines set. Could start by making the NACC what she wanted it to be. Or they're just gasbags. michaelwest.com.au/nacc-declare...

OPINION When will the @australianlabor.bsky.social @albomp.bsky.social govt (Looking at you Dick Marles) unwrap themselves from the delusion, illusion that there is actually a #USA “alliance”? #Trump wouldn’t piss on us if we were on fire. That’s all over. New plan? Urgent. #fascism #Ukraine #AUKUS

As for RBA productivity past five years, lol. 8% headcount surge in latest year blamed on the new monetary policy board.

Do you think these people who make big decisions & are so breathtakingly financially comfortable have any real idea how other people are experiencing the world? Do they lack empathy, or are they ignorant of how biting & brutal the 'cost of living' (WHAT a phrase) is for so many people?

Hey @albomp.bsky.social - this is getting confusing. Time to tell the Australian people whose side we are supposed to be on: Ukraine's? Or Trump & Putin's? And then explain how having dozens of US bases on Australian soil - or Australian military bases controlled by the US - makes us more secure?

Trump, the Chamberlain of our times, determined to cede 20% of Ukraine to Putin cf the Munich Agreement's 30% of Czechoslovakia to Hitler. But Australian defence and foreign policy still based on "Yes, Sir, Mr President". www.smh.com.au/world/europe...

This demonstrates much that's wrong with Labor politics [and media reporting it]: Unquestioning loyalty is framed as "discipline". Alternative views are "complaints". This has delivered us: - the stupidity of #AUKUS - complicity in a genocide, and - 'reform' that's put donors before people. #auspol

If only Anthony Albanese showed half the spine of Carney, stood up to Trump, and set out a plan for Australia's independence. As well as being the right thing to do, he might even improve his electoral standing. #EndAUKUS #auspol

The Australian Defence Force is increasingly integrating Starlink into its systems. Perhaps it's time that the government came clean on the sovereignty risks of relying on the world's richest neo-Nazi, and the fickle fascist in the White House. #EndAUKUS #auspol

Was it Musk or Trump? Who intervened to hinder Ukraine's satellite internet access, protecting Russian targets from Ukrainian launches? Can stop debating, it looks like the answer is both. Both are Putin sympathizers who have acted to help Russia before, and it'd probably take both to work.

To murdering survivors clinging to wreckage at sea, piracy, starting wars, summary executions, attacking the ICC, etc etc as things that are not red lines for Australian foreign policy acquiescence, add preferring Russia to Ukraine as a partner. Have we no pride left at all?
