I find all those social posts saying “I can’t believe I only just found out you can cook xyz in an air fryer” funny because it’s going to blow their minds when they work out that an air fryer is just a tiny oven. 🤯

I shouldn't have to explain this to adults: "Part of the problem is we need a landscape image (horizontal) and cropping a portrait image to fit just doesn’t work because of the composition - basic shape/space physics."

I'd like to thank Gravity Forms for its latest malware issue. I had just replied to a client explaining why we don't (and won't) use WordPress when the news popped up on my feed. Needless to say I forwarded this to them www.searchenginejournal.com/malware-disc...

searchenginejournal.comMalware Discovered In Gravity Forms WordPress PluginPatchstack published an advisory on a supply chain attack affecting Gravity Forms that enables remote code execution on affected websites.

I hate replying on 3rd party IT people to update DNS when putting a site live. Inevitably they screw it up. The number of IT support people who don't understand DNS is gobsmacking!

How is it that is 2025 companies are still asking for an ID check when they call you? My heath insurance company calls me out of the blue and says "Before I can tell you why I'm calling I need to do an ID check". Me: Um, no.

I’ve been helping someone with a Wordpress site that uses Elementor and I have come to the conclusion that WP/Elementor isn’t web design or development, it’s button clicking.

I love that hotels now use refillable amenities in their showers but what they failed to do is cater for people who can’t read the labels without glasses. The brand is huge but the product type is small.

This tap is a perfect example of design over function. Turn the tap a little and it’s cold, turn all the way and it’s hot and somewhere in between is warm. There is only 1 level of water pressure. Also try turning it on with moisturiser on your hands!

My latest #Statamic website was also my first Statamic website. In 2021 when we moved to Statamic as our CMS of choice I built my personal website as a training exercise. I thought it was time to rebuild it and use what I have learned over the last few years to make it better. www.michaelscruse.com

I hate this too. Also don’t change the mouse cursor - that shits me just as much.

Don't Fuck With Scroll: "Momentum scrolling is like turning a functional bike into a unicycle because it "looks cool". It adds unnecessary complexity, degrades usability, and frustrates users. Stick to what works: native, predictable, fast scrolling behavior." #a11y

This is one of my favourite photos. It’s my family (I’m front left) at Christmas 1981. I’ve been trying for years to find the original - no one seems to have it, so this crappy scan of a crappy print is all I have.

How do agencies get away with charging so much for so little? I'm doing a small piece of work of a company and need their web devs to replace a JS file (straight swap) and it's going to take them a few days!

Yesterday I had a meeting with a state government minister. Those Australians who have seen the TV show Utopia will understand when I say that I lived my very own Utopia moment.
