Idk who needs to know this, but friendly reminder that you should never, ever reply to unsolicited text/email messages. Always login to the website for the company the text claims it's from, and check on things from a different channel to confirm it's legit.

Pleased to announce that in this, the year of our Lord 2026, through what miracle of backwards compatibility assurance I know not what, my 2013 Pioneer car stereo and my Google Pixel phone suddenly play nicely together. I can even see my recent songs on YouTube. May miracles never cease.

Ok yeah the recommendations for the color I wanted for the back door from the kid and the lady at the Sherwin Williams store were right - this Wild Poppy is def my new favorite color. I'm so excited I wish I didn't still have to finish sanding and priming πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ it's sooooo pretty

Your friendly reminder that data centers are a neutral concept. It's when companies try to take shortcuts with cooling + energy that they are a problem. That is not unique to data centers although they bring the issue into clear focus - industrial facilities MUST be required to consume responsibly

A year ago, just 42% of Americans opposed a data center being built in their community. Today, a staggering 75% do. Are data centers really that bad? Let’s take a look.

#ADDlifeprotip #2 - you may think you can leave that painters tape up for a second. After all, it's on the brick, and you're coming right back to paint another coat, right? WRONG. You are completely wrong and might not touch that shit again for a month. Go take it off now. Right now.

I've decided to start a #ADDlifeprotip thread. Tip #1 - I am aware they added the H. I also don't care. That alone probably cost millions of young kids a needed diagnosis because they could sit still.

I think I’m officially old. One of my (not THAT much) younger colleagues told me she wants to be like me when she grows up, after a particularly contentious meeting lol. The irony is I HATE that type of thing but sometimes I have no choice but to fight back on a particularly bad idea.

Anybody else grab their keys and wallet to go outside, even if they're not actually leaving, so you can trick the dog into thinking you left (so they don't get their feelings hurt bc they can't go outside)? No? Only me? Oh.

Warnock: "I know that there are those who are tired of the remedy. I'm tired of racism. I think it's a strange position to be more concerned about the medicine than you are about the malady."

Sometimes I wonder about things like "Would the tech trend to refer to a standard product as 'core' change, if any of the dudes that push it read romance novels - and realized that's the #1 euphemism for a woman's vaginal canal?"

Today in #shitdoctorssay - "you were right" - the vascular surgeon to me, about my theory that my leg pain since 2022 was caused by an injury during the femoral catheter I got. So to all the doctors who didn't believe me & thought I was exaggerating, including the one I was married to - FUCK YOU πŸ–•πŸ–•πŸ–•

So, I decided to use some of the new smart light lightbulbs for my back patio. I thought that meant that the bulbs were smart, but turns out to get them to all sync, on schedules, & hear music means you need a masters degree in lightbulb applications. I’m not sure I’m smart enough for smart bulbs.

Mardi Gras #2 with one of the world’s biggest babies. I thought the amount of traffic or the bands/music down the road would get him, but nope, it was the news chopper that about took him out lol. He’s calm again, for the moment οΏΌοΏΌ

Dear #scrummasters - I understand that team names are fun. I get it, I really do. But I interact with 50+ scrum teams and I will never remember that Team Tahoe is building features for a client vs Team Sedona focusing on performance improvements. Stop trying to make team names happen, k, thx

Y'all listening to Samara Cyn yet? New fave, along with Crystal Crave. Today I've got ~17 calls on the calendar & think a lot about the line from this song talking about "I used to work at Harbor Freight, but now this my office, can you believe they pay me all this money just to talk shit?" πŸ˜‚ πŸ¦–

Floor mounted is not a real goddamn thing. This type of thing drives my systems brain batshit crazy. If it's on the floor, it's not mounted ffs. I do not care if the API/algorithm won't return a result without an exact match, so you needed something to identify non-wall mounted.

I'm convinced companies took all their best API/Algo devs and put them on AI/ML and then let go all of the DB/query people, because finding anything specific on the Internet seems to get worse every day. Why the fuck am I, a consumer, researching what keywords Amazon's latest search engine looks for

In case anybody was wondering, they have indeed changed it to prioritize "natural language" so that it basically ignores things like " for inch, btw. But I should not need to know that! And we should not all have to search for shit using the vocab of 3rd graders who haven't learned notation yet ffs

Unless something is getting drilled down, table mounted isn't a thing either. Get over it and learn to accept returning a zero data result set, and response codes other than 200s. Or failures masquerading as 200s bc "technically the system responded" and that makes the failed cert error ok πŸ™„πŸ«

The nice thing about wood is that if some dude leaves big pieces sitting around outside, which are too heavy for you to move, eventually they will simply rot and then be nicely portable yay #HomeImprovement
