Funny cuz it’s true! Tis the season! - MEM 👻

“Le Feu Follet”… as the old Cajuns say, are souls escaped from Purgatory or they’re the souls of babies who were never blessed in the Church.

The legend of the Cajun Fairy (“marsh fire”) originated along the bayou many years ago as ghostly lights are reported to be seen in many South Louisiana bayous, cemeteries and graveyards.

“Le Feu Follet”… as the old Cajuns say, are souls escaped from Purgatory or they’re the souls of babies who were never blessed in the Church.

Appearing as a ball of fire in the swamps and marshlands and taking the form of a loved one, it is also said to have a devilish quality luring those who follow the light until they become lost in the swamps and eventually drown.

“Le Feu Follet”… the old Cajuns say, they are souls escaped from Purgatory or they’re the souls of babies who were never blessed in the Church. In South Louisiana to this day, you can buy someone a beer in a bar and listen to a tale of someone who escaped “Le Feu Follet" just last week!

Growing up in South Louisiana was fascinating… not just the food but the scenery, the rich culture and the people! You don’t realize that till you are gone… “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” - MEM 🦞

Growing up in South Louisiana, one of the stories that lingered in the air when out on the Bayou was that of the Lutin. According to lore, a Lutin is the spirit of a child who dies before it is baptized.

Known for doing things like scaring farm animals, spoiling milk and taking random items and putting them in places you would never think to look.

The Lutin is a trickster that can change shape and appearance and loves horses. You can always tell when a Lutin was around because they would braid the horses mane. "C'est tout” - MEM 🦞

Tis the season to give a nod to my ancestral roots… - MEM 🦞

The lobsters grew tired, hungry and got smaller along the journey, by the time they arrived in the Bayou they were only 4 to 5 inches long. Being friendly with the settlers and mimicking everything the Acadians did...

The crawfish followed suit and built mud chimneys for their homes. Dis is for true! - MEM 🦞

Tis the season to give a nod to my ancestral roots… - MEM 🦞

The Legend of the Crawfish According to legend, the crawfish and the mud towers that make their home originated as the lobster followed the Acadian people from Canada to settle in Louisiana. It was a long grueling trip with not much food to go around and heat and humidity was unbearable...

It never was! - MEM 💦

It’s an appropriate title… I hope I can live up to it! 🙏 - MEM 💦

but none daunted on me as much as this one. Ya see, when I read the flyer, it said “From Ordinary to Extraordinary” 😮 Only after years of striving was I told there was a typo in the marketing material… a hyphen had been inadvertently dropped from the text.

It’s an appropriate title… I hope I can live up to it! 🙏 - MEM 💦

The sun is setting on this Carrots & Sticks game… Over the past month or so I’ve shared a few MEM retro videos as I reflected on the Vision and retraced where we started, the bumbles, the blunders and missteps. From the cringe worthy to the polished, more concise…

This is not for everyone. This is not for people looking for incremental improvement, or replicators looking for a leg up. It's definitely not for tire kickers who want to keep learning but never implement. It's for those who have a fire in their belly and know they've got something. Michael
