I had the honor of returning to my Alma Mater to talk about what’s happening in Congress and the importance of youth civic engagement. It is always inspiring to hear from young students at “the Mecca”. Thank you to President Wayne Frederick for bringing us all together.

RM Meeks: Rubio is firing or sidelining career diplomats in favor of loyalists. Not meritocracy, but MAGA nepotism. Personnel decisions based on political litmus tests are blatantly illegal and do real harm to national security. Congress and State OIG must investigate—I’m working to ensure that.

Freedom to worship and practice your faith without fear is part of America’s promise. That promise includes our Indian-American and Hindu-practicing brothers and sisters. Under no circumstances can white supremacy and hate be tolerated in our democracy.

My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who prevented a tragedy, but we must all come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

I’m deeply disturbed by ICE agents shooting an unarmed man in the Bronx, especially with a 5-year-old in the vehicle. I demand a full independent investigation, with all facts and footage made public. I stand with my fellow New Yorkers during this difficult time. abcnews.com/US/person-sh...

Today, I joined Ranking Member Joe Morelle, Rep. Grace Meng, Rep. Paul Tonko, and Rep. Adriano Espaillat to host a hearing on election security. We heard from voting rights experts about recent attempts to restrict access to the ballot and weaken confidence in our elections in NY and across America.

Capt. Smit Machchhar and those who helped him are heroes. Their bravery in fending off the attacker and safely landing FlyDubai Flight 1073 in Saudi Arabia saved nearly 200 lives and prevented a devastating tragedy. A thorough investigation is needed to ensure this never happens again.

The alarm bells have been going off. The fact that the court had to step in and force Trump to abide by the First Amendment should concern us all.

A zip code should never determine a child’s ability to grow up healthy. Today, I celebrated the opening of Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center’s new Pediatric Dental Services, made possible in part by the $1.5 million in federal funding I secured.

This investment will expand access to essential pediatric services and give kids and families the opportunity to receive high-quality care closer to home.

America was wounded, but even in our darkest moment—we prevailed because of our ability to come together as Americans with resiliency, compassion, and civic duty. We continue to honor those we lost, and the families who help us carry on their memory, now and forever.

Every NYC Mayor has attended the 9/11 remembrance ceremony to pay their respects to those we lost on September 11, 2001. Mayor Mamdani has the same right and should pay his respects and stand alongside New Yorkers as the city remembers.

The American workforce is at the heart of our nation’s progress. Today, we recognize those workers and unions who drive our economy and help make #NY05 and our country stronger every day. Happy Labor Day!

These conversations are one of the best parts about serving #NY05 because I get to hear directly from constituents and talk about issues that matter the most in the district. I appreciate all who participated in making our community stronger.

Today, we marched because we will not stand silent in the face of injustice. We will organize, we will lead, and we will keep the movement alive until the promise of America is a reality for all. #ProtectTheVote

Make no mistake—this has nothing to do with securing elections. It’s all part of Trump and Republicans’ very obvious scheme to restrict access to the ballot box and rig elections. NO president has the constitutional authority to unilaterally control elections. The fight isn’t over.
