Billy Donovan has agreed to become the lead assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs and head coach Mitch Johnson, sources tell me and @PeteThamel. After 11 seasons as a head coach in Chicago and Oklahoma City, Donovan accepts the position with the Western Conference champions.

The craziest thing about the Spurs is that all national media (sorry if you are the exceptions) can’t figure out who to give credit to. Nobody is saying Vic is MVP. Nobody saying another Spur is a star. I’m not hearing Mitch for COTY. How are the Spurs third seed of the league?
