Literacy Rochester also has an online auction running until October 30 to raise funds to support their mission. Please take a look and consider bidding on large or small items, including a trip to Panama or a Lotto Wreath.

Checking out banned books or books about topics that are frequently targeted for censorship proves that the community is interested in reading them. Library staff can use circulation data to support keeping the books on shelves when they are challenged. #LetFreedomReadDay #BannedBooksWeek

We love how many responses our visitors wrote for our question yesterday, which was, "What is your fav song (rn)?" Today's question is, "What is your fav song from a movie?" #MCCLibraries

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated September 15 - October 15. The 2026 theme “Unidos, Somos Más” (translated as “Together, We are More”) highlights the collective power, connection, and collaboration found within diverse Hispanic and Latino communities.

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of U.S. citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.

Read more about the month in the Daily Tribune article by Antonia Custodio from MCC's Latino Empowerment Network Affinity Group, and about Hispanic history, culture, and heritage in the books on display at the Downtown Campus Learning Commons. #MCCLibraries #HispanicHeritageMonth
