I’d like to implore that songs and podcasts refrain from including sirens as part of their audio landscape/ background. Many are listening while driving and it’s needlessly anxiety-inducing to start mapping out where you’re gonna pull over only to realize the siren isn’t IRL.

Pit stop! it’s one of the easier places to get to on my way home.

BRR ride done! 24-ish miles w/ shitty headwind. Bonfire at midpoint between Perry and Rippey produced a lot of ash. Dumping my dark stuff (coat, mid layer, leggings, & wind pants) straight into the wash. Now I look like Winnie the Pooh with no bottoms and a tiny shirt as I start the washing machine

Small note: if you see a fat person out exercising, you don’t need to give them advice!

I had this for 2025 thru Surest. It was pitched to us as “having skin in the game” and “shopping for the lowest-priced provider.” No, I want to go to *my* clinic and keep records with one entity! I’m not shopping around when I feel like shit (luckily acute illness, nothing serious, but STILL!)

Just thinking back to how I was feeling a year ago. This is better.

It rained on me on the last mile of my trip home from Costco. There’s a 33 lbs bag of Traeger pellets in that box on the rear rack. Holy crap is it humid out there, too. My phone says 77% humidity.

It’s been great seeing all the bikes being used as transportation while in the twin cities area these last few days. Also used the light rail to get to the art fair. I can get to a lot by bike from home, but not nearly as easily as it seems to be for MPLS/StP folks.

Rotated the tires on my bike. I’ve nearly jumped out of my skin each time the tire bead pops into place while re-inflating.

I really wish tv writers would do a basic search of geography. It’s jarring to hear “they’re headed north on I-90” when they’re supposedly in rural Nebraska. - even-numbered interstates run east-west - I-90 doesn’t go through Nebraska. I get that it’s not crucial to the arch of the story.

First long-ish ride with the new bike computer and lost my cadence sensor. Dang.

This is amazing! While I am frustrated by the goings-on of the past week, I hope that voters there were connecting this chaos to Rs and voting against the party.

First ride in a month! It hovered right around freezing and the wind picked up a bit on the return leg of my ride. Excited to get back out there. This is the gravel connection between Great Western trailhead and the Bill Riley trail.

We have the ingredients for a root beer float and I sort of want to make one, but I’m also too cold for ice cream. 🥶

It was a bit of a brisk bike ride this evening.

Walz talking about gun suicide, for just a second there, is the first time I’ve heard a politician make that crucial point on this kind of stage. Amazing. “Sometimes the gun is the problem.” (Suicides make up over half of all gun deaths in America, and have for a decade at least.)

Bought my first organized bike ride tickets for 2025. For February. In Iowa. We’ll see if I actually go. Though last year wasn’t too bad.
