matty stratton

For new followers and stuff … hi! I’m Matty. I live in the Chicagoland area with my partner @stefinitely.cool, three teenage kids, and two Australian Shepherds. I like lifting weights, tattoos, and live music. I work at Turbot looking after marketing and community and that kind of thing!

350 lb deadlift! Tried to get one extra rep on this last set but it wasn’t happening 😂

From @jacquie.bsky.social: "we don't have that kind of under-the-hood learning anymore." I think of a Chef meetup of seven or eight people at a bar, where "nobody had slides, nobody had a mic." www.arresteddevops.com/meaningful-...

"Where does the data go? Who can access it? How is it retained or used?" Those were the questions @jacquie.bsky.social and her healthcare team in Canada had to answer under data residency rules. I asked what made it click for her. This was it. www.arresteddevops.com/meaningful-...

Totally forgot I ordered this print from @localcelebrity.bsky.social years ago until I found it unopened in my basement! Finally hung it up!

@jacquie.bsky.social on keeping up with launches: "you're comparing your own friction points with everyone else's highlights." My side of it was that when the tool changes every two weeks, it "all becomes yak shaves." On the show: www.arresteddevops.com/meaningful-...

My neighbor’s decor :)

New episode: @jacquie.bsky.social and I talk about what happens when your way of working is defined by a tool that changes every two weeks, and what a realistic way out looks like. www.arresteddevops.com/meaningful-c...

Steve is deep in conversation with some plastic pumpkins. We had better keep out of it. It looks important.

New Arrested DevOps. @virtualized6ix.bsky.social and I went in with no plan and asked what is actually going on in tech right now. His answer starts in 2021: zero interest rate money, and a lot of startups built on cheap capital. www.arresteddevops.com/wtf-is-going...

Time for some Monday weightlifting!

i would appreciate more men being vocal that rape is bad and has consequences like not being your friend. i don’t see anyone really talking about the cornell stuff and to be frank, i usually don’t when it comes to this topic.

Believe women.

Just realized I’m 10-11 lbs away from being able to squat my body weight We’ll see which direction leads - increasing squat weight or dropping more pounds 😂

asking the pope "how many local models do you run" and still thinking i'm going to see the pearly gates

Been recording a bunch of new episodes for Arrested DevOps, and it’s re-energized me for doing the show! So many great conversations, and I’m excited to keep it going… Who would you like to see on the show?

as a lifelong Cubs fan I am very excited about these White Sox! 💙 🖤

Time for Lambrini Girls with @stefinitely.cool !

While recording a podcast today I learned about www.oncallhealth.ai and this makes me really happy that there are things like this again!

Talked to my two 16 year old sons about the Cornell rapists today Neither of them had heard a darn thing about it. They were both horrified though. So yes, talk to your sons about it. They aren’t seeing the same algorithm that we are.

Going for the no beard look for a bit

you’re halfway through your last set. It’s heavy. You’re questioning every decision that led you here. what ONE song comes on that guarantees you finish the set? need additions to my lifting playlist.

(Most of the) family photo from Riotfest yesterday

“I love everything about Morrissey except Morrissey” - my wife, probably

Sometimes the timeline just works

Ready for Sleater-Kinney and Liz Phair!

On one hand I’m very worried about AI/robots taking over humanity On the other hand, my Roomba can’t finish vacuuming my house without needing to be rescued from getting caught on a towel on the floor

I bought a pair of black jeans in April for a wedding and I could barely button them; I decided to wear them today and spent the entire day hitching them up because they kept falling off!

My two sons had their Homecoming yesterday! They’re too tall. This is ridiculous 😂

Shout out to @stefinitely.cool who deadlifted more than her body weight today!

Okay I’m kinda pleased with this workout selfie

I decided instead of lifting weights tonight I’ll drink wine instead Follow me for more fitness tips
