#comicsky #booksky The true ending to Watchmen. Restacked by award winning artist Colleen Doran and Marvel Editor Tom Brevoort. Followed on Substack by Chuck Dixon and Patton Oswalt. This doesn't mean the theory is true, but give it a read and see what you think. substack.com/home/post/p-...

#comicsky #booksky Did you know that throughout the comic book ‘Watchmen’, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons consistently manipulate you into drawing the wrong conclusions? Then they laugh at you for it. open.substack.com/pub/matthew2...

#comicsky #booksky Alan Moore has pulled the greatest gag in all of comic book history. For over 40 years, Alan Moore secretly proved that comic book fandom would be utterly unable to identify Clark Kent as Superman without being explicitly told. FREE Substack: open.substack.com/pub/matthew2...

@comicsjournal.bsky.social @kurtbusiek.bsky.social @gailsimone.bsky.social #comicsky #booksky Genuine question… If Dave Gibbons used a certain pattern to indicate teleportation in “Watchmen”, then shouldn’t all future uses of said pattern indicate teleportation?
@paulkupperberg.bsky.social I know you’re a writer, and not an artist, but perhaps you have insight. Gibbons uses an explosion pattern when Jon destroys things. But when Jon “destroyed” Walter, no explosion. Instead the teleportation pattern is used. Why the switch up, do you think?

#comicsky #booksky @comicsjournal.bsky.social When Doctor Manhattan destroys something, the symbol associated with that destruction is visible explosion. But when Manhattan “kills” Rorschach, we don’t get explosion. We get the teleportation pattern that Gibbons previously used for Jon’s button.

@mikester.bsky.social Yo Mike, I don’t usually try to bother you but this seems like a legit question and I was curious about your input. If you “don’t want to get dragged into this”, fair. Just curious on your thoughts.
#comicsky #booksky I made my first ever Watchmen video lmao Obviously very amateur, and I’ll have to invest in a microphone and possibly take a video editing course… But not a too terrible start. I think video is the way to go when revealing Watchmen’s secrets.
@chrisw101.bsky.social Yeah, this sucks. But practice makes perfect. If I can become a decent video maker/editor, then a lot more people will be able to learn about Larry Schexnayder and all the rest.
