Matt Hartley (The Linux Matt, person)

Apparently my old "Waver" roots are popping out today. FTR, I've done the whole New Wave, Punk, Skater and Metal Head thing in my youth. But today, this is my old music self for concentrating on work.

EasySpeak featured on TWIL with @michaeltunnell.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vUO... Reminder, for the "why is it this way" or "which ____ will it support" or anything else, please start here. github.com/ctsdownloads...

Linux desktop voice control has a gap. Talon costs money. Other tools are X11-only or cloud-dependent. So I built EasySpeak. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl5m... github.com/ctsdownloads... - Free and open source (GPL-3.0) - Fully local — no cloud, no accounts - Wayland-native

Raise your hand if you ever re-watched The Transformers: The Movie just to listen to Orson Wells voicing Unicron, Leonard Nemoy as Galvatron, Robert Stack as Ultra Magnus, Judd Nelson as Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime, Casey Kasem as Cliffjumper while rocking out to Stan Bush. Mic drop.

And this is why I am not worried about AI taking my job anytime soon. Wow...😂

All I will say is I'm sad, frustrated and tired. Just so damned tired. Wish I could say more.

Resharing because of its 80s goodness. Weekend project, you can try it by going to matthartley.com and in the terminal on the website (yeah, com, plete with faux commands), you can launch the game there.

So I have been putting off doing a personal website upgrade...until now. Well, I went down the rabbit hole. Figured, why the heck not have some fun. Why yes, there is a working faux terminal you can play with. Just type help. 🥲 matthartley.com

So I did a thing. If you are Gen X or older, you immediately recognize this. Trust me. Yes, while I am ironing out visuals, this is fully functional. 😎

Are there any FOSS developers within a six hour drive of Maine (I'm thinking eastern Canada, New England, tri-state area, etc.) who would want to be the subject of a short documentary about your project?

Aurora, Bluefin, and @bazzite.gg run great on these. Thanks to @frame.work for their support. AI accel ootb, great desktop - Bluefin LTS will be my image of choice on these, coming to you very soon! But also get a second one for a dedicated @bazzite.gg console. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv7_...
