Nottingham : Just two of us this evening playing with Problem Half from the shout. We’ve found what we think are all the solutions, but can we be sure …. ?

Manchester: at our usual table! We didn't bring a chessboard, but are now discussing whether a drawing of a chessboard is itself a chessboard. And what other objects have the property that a drawing of one on a piece of paper serves the same function as the object itself?

Manchester: we have come up with a much less impressive version of the card trick on the Shout, which involves forgetting to ask your volunteer to add 5

Exeter: one of us (yes, the organiser) misread double and multiplied by five, getting two possibly different answers and a possibly more interesting puzzle?

Nottingham are considering Clan Decline and we have two answers to a quadratic equation, only one of which makes sense and we’re trying to logic away the other one.

Exeter will be starting on table 15 (opposite the first bar) in five minutes, and running there until it gets rowdy as predicted, at which point another place will be suggested if available!
