In high school, I took a job cold calling residential lines to sell newspapers. The script started by asking if they got their paper delivered that day, then went into the pitch if they didn't say yes. Luckily, I was let go before the 1st shift ended

A doctor told me that "women don't get cluster headaches" when I told him THESE ARE NOT REGULAR MIGRAINES. He also thought my kneecap was misaligned when I was having an MS flare up

A question from Reddit that I'll answer here: "What's the most unhinged thing a doctor has said to you with a straight face?"

Remorse, my ass. I do not support the death penalty, but I find it very telling that Boelter had no problem killing others for his beliefs but was not willing to die for them himself. Glad to see he'll be locked up for the rest of his days

I've been enjoying all the Mitch McConnell jokes. This one in particular

macbilly.bsky.social@macbilly.bsky.social

I just had a walk along the beach with Mitch Mcconnell. When I looked back,I only saw one set of footprints and I asked him why and he said "That was when you carried me" and then he took away my health insurance.

This is the laugh of a super villain

Notorious VOG@notoriousvog.bsky.social

Uncle Tom getting caught slipping out of the House side right before major SCOTUS rulings is the ultimate picture of a corrupt, partisan judiciary. Unelected judges shouldn't be secretly huddling with House Republican leadership. This isn't a democracy—it's a kingdom. Expand & reform the Court now.🤦🏾‍♂️

It also lays bare the fact that most of us don't think, or live, this way. The haters are NOT the majority they think they are

Casey S. Pumpkins 🎃@caseyexplosion.bsky.social

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

This, 100%. I hope W takes note

i really hate the notion that has taken hold that bush is not responsible for the shit bush did as president. yes, cheney was his advisor and wingman and his soul is soaked with the blood of iraqis and americans, but at the end of the day bush was the decider.

In the spirit of “no one knows what will work” and “try a diversity of tactics,” ICE hasn’t shown up at Chicago’s immigration court since June 16.

unraveled@unraveledpress.com

It's been another quiet morning at Chicago's immigration court. We have not seen any feds on the premises. Activists are handing out flyers and chalking the sidewalks. ICE hasn't returned to attempt any arrests since autonomous protesters established a constant presence here last Monday.

I think about this a lot. It's also why they keep voting foe the person most likely to be the antichrist

union person@junlper.beer

i think it’s not talked about enough that so many christian rightwingers support israel because they want to trigger the end times rapture and they believe supporting israel will ensure this

If you've been wondering what the troops think about being deployed to L.A., this family will tell you.

Commentary from a military family: “The deployment of active duty military forces against American citizens on American soil in a law enforcement capacity is fundamentally wrong and deeply dangerous to our republic.” minnesotareformer.com/2025/06/12/a...

Take care Angelenos. The trash is itching for a fight

LOS ANGELES: Stay off the streets tonight. Stay home. Stay safe. Tom Homan says the National Guard might be deployed — and I’m telling you, he wants violence. They’re baiting us to react so they can escalate. Rule #1: Never protest at night. That’s when the worst happens—under cover of darkness.

"Yes, I'm taking away your health care, which OBVIOUSLY will kill people (do I also need to explain the tooth fairy?) BUT you're welcome to join my death cult."

Keith Edwards@keithedwards.bsky.social

Against all odds, Joni Ernst has made it worse

Exactly. It's the expectation that poor people need to earn the right to live in society through contribution while the rich just skate by on their untaxed generational wealth.

Butlerian Jihadist of House Dornick@shimminykricket.blacksky.app

The primary resource of a community IS people. So treating a poor person who has children like a burden on society is some goofy ass eugenics shit.

Better to laugh than cry I guess

"Masked security forces captured an opposition leader in the coastal province of New Jersey as regime officials continue their months-long crack-down against pro-democracy elements in the embattled United States. The arrest comes as the regime issued calls for summary detentions without trial."

HAPPENING NOW: Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was just taken into custody while protesting outside the Delaney Hall ICE detention center

This is the whole of his tarrif plan, nicely summarized.

Sky Marchini@sky.skymarchini.net

Again: he is not going to back down from tariffs because the imports collapse is an explicitly good thing to him. It’s the whole goal of the policy. He sees the number of containers going to zero and thinks *that is a success* because it means we’re not buying things from those foreigners anymore.

Frankly, I'm surprised anyone is willing to have kids these days

union person@junlper.beer

an under discussed aspect of the “birth rate decline panic” is that young people keep voting for politicians and agendas that never win in america and feel like the world is doomed, while older generations keep reiterating that doom cycle and forcing agendas on younger generations that fuck us

As someone who reads every word, I wholeheartedly agree.

Never write for the reader that skips whole sections of a book. They can always keep skipping whatever they want, but the reader who doesn't skip will lose what you didn't put in. Don't prioritize the ones who don't care that much over the ones who do. #booksky #amwriting
