I guess it's in spirit with the way the award was received bsky.app/profile/anab...
Joan Laporta answered a question about the importance of winning the women's Champions League with an answer about wanting to win the men's Champions League and La Liga...while accepting the award for best women's club.

Our hypothesis: LLMs have a pressure for information density, leading to compressed language, novel ngrams, and a preference for short alternatives in linguistic alternations, even when this is not humanlike - humans have a pressure for successful communication with other humans
an investigation i'd really like to do is stuff around 'passes into quote-unquote good areas where the receiver is travelling at speed at angle X/Y/Z' my intuition is that e.g. this guy does amazingly in the 2 steps before the pass to rotate his body, and if he doesn't the cross goes straight out
This is an absolutely diabolical free-kick routine by FC Copenhagen that I'd be trying to copy if I were working on this for a club. The design is sooooo good. Decoy runner to make the defender drop a yard, then trots back to act as a screen for the second runner, who is the real target. Genius.
You can take this energy to other platforms too and block those interview/podcast/TV clipper accounts on Reels etc
twitter is a lost cause obviously because it's a septic tank but i am begging the good people of bluesky to discern original work from empty aggregation accounts and spend your attention and time on the former, not the latter

Reminder the deadline is end of the day tomorrow!
REMINDER: Interested in performing research using SkillCorner data and having the chance to present your findings on stage at the 2027 ASI Summit? To be considered, submit your proposal by 11:59 PM CT on Friday, October 23rd. For more information, visit: americansoccerinsights.com/call-for-pro...
this is one of the things where I don't know how it shakes out, but using AI to produce examples to tailor to your tastes is/seems really useful
I often couldn't tell what I liked in a given output. So I built a tool: 100 renders, marks from 1 to 5, quick tags, and a summary that ties every mark back to the traits behind it.

@tifofootball.bsky.social used to call Allan Saint-Maximin and Adama Traore as 'dribbly-boys'. They went away a few years ago, but with a modern implementation of the W-M formation, they are back and better than ever!
We are absolutely going to (eventually) develop a taste for VisSlop. In the meantime...
The easiness of getting early voting data and presenting it in slick looking ways thanks to AI is a really unfortunate fit with the difficulty of saying smart and meaningful things with early voting data. Stay data safe out there folks.

Brighton saw you all complaining about xG and decided to skew the shot distance averages
There's fast starts, and then there's fast starts. Brighton were 3-0 up with 9:30 on the clock, the earliest a side has scored 3 goals in a Premier League game since Newcastle vs Tottenham in April 2023 (08:12). The pick of the bunch? Diego Gomez probably has a case...
Lauren James scored a crazy goal from an impossible angle on 25 minutes, and Chelsea had two shots for the rest of the first half...
Idly checking the Chelsea-Spurs lineups ahead of the WSL game in half an hour and... β’ is Lucy Bronze a back 4 centre-back? (or is Fotmob wrong) β’ a Thompson, Malard, James front three should be box office
