Having had a bit of time with a Krovatar UHD Blu-ray player... it's a bit janky but honestly better than my much loved Sony 4k player I've had for years. If they can polish a few things up, it'll be one of the best players I've owned. Excited to see a bunch of new companies pop up to make players.

Extras are a lot, so let's go over that: 11 commentaries featuring Mike Toole, Daryl Surat, & more! Copious liner notes on every disc Extensive art galleries Clean Openings & Endings from the Japanese & English versions of the show, plus some eyecatches

The show is SD & sourced from the best quality copies possible. Subs have been gone over. 1-79 has the beloved English dub cast that continues to dub Lupin nowadays. 145 & 155 has the classic "Lupin's Greatest Capers" dub featuring Bob Bergen. A screenshot from each disc!

I actually don't have much to say about the 4k disc of @realgdt.bsky.social's Frankenstein. Only looked at the theatrical so far, but the image quality looks about as good as you could imagine. Almost takes your breath away how good it looks.

Super-1 has decently solid video. Like Skyrider, it isn't perfect, but it looks good. It's the same remaster that streamed in Japan and is the best Super-1 has ever looked. A few screenshot examples.

The Big O took the framing of mecha and told a dark mysterious drama that stoked the imagination of fans. The adventures of Roger, Dorothy, & the Big O are as good as ever & it's time to rediscover the mystery of Paradigm, the city of amnesia. mediaocd.com/product/big-...

Big O uses existing masters. They look decent. We've gone through to minimize interlacing artifacts & prior issues. Audio is Japanese w/ subs & the legendary English dub. Season 2 also has the English 5.1 made for that season. A few screenshot examples of both seasons.

It’s so surreal and depressing hearing the news of someone’s passing literally a day after seeing them in person. Had the pleasure of seeing the late Eric Bauza at the “Comedy in Cartoons” Panel at LightBox on Saturday. Heres a highlight of him doing his Bugs Bunny impression for the audience.

Rest in peace, Walter Koenig, died aged 89 with his surviving family around him. He had a long and full life, but this is how I first saw him in Star Trek and to me he is forever Ensign Chekov, forever young.

The Star Trek Voyager documentary is positive as it lets me look at back at a show I like, but poorly done. A simple example- They interview Nana Visitor, who is not part of the Voyager cast. They do not include her well known story about trying to get herself cast on Voyager WHILE being on DS9.

So she's only in the documentary for 15 seconds, and it isn't entirely clear 'why'. But also the entire Voyager cast isn't in the documentary, and there is no commenting on why someone might not be there.

They put one scene from the show after the credits, which is a nice touch. The captions are so mistimed they start to appear partway through the credits, and the captions for that scene are entirely busted.

I turned on the captions for the Star Trek Voyager documentary & now I'm nitpicking the formatting, seeing when they missed a word or a space, etc. Although I do think missing the word 'Voyager' when one of the creators talks about the genesis of the series is a decently large miss...

The subtitles definitely weren't checked properly... The last caption before the credits they forgot to turn off, so it's just sitting there during the credits.

Part of why it is important to do a proper pass on subtitles/captions, is based on certain settings, sometimes things do not render out how you will expect. And if it's busted it will be busted (most likely) 'every' time.
