#DuckDB is already a solid building block for fast and reliable agentic applications. And it’s getting even better with a dedicated ‘agent mode’ coming in DuckDB 2.0. 🐣🤖👍

The #DuckDB v2.0 CLI has an agent mode that gets AI coding agents to a correct result faster and with fewer tokens. When the CLI detects an agent, it prints compact Markdown tables instead of padded boxes, says clearly when a result was cut, stops runaway queries early, and reports errors as JSON.

Two major AI announcements in one week: Apple’s privacy-first AI platform and Anthropic’s new strong agent models. Both are initially US-only. Apple blames EU regulation. Anthropic is blocked by Trump’s AI export policy. AI is now geostrategy. And Europe is falling behind.

"Each generation of LLMs has made entire classes of businesses unnecessary. You can think of them like a tidal wave. You can’t outrun them, you can’t swim through them. If you are very, very good you can surf them, and they’ll take you very far very fast." motherduck.com/blog/future-...

Age verification sounds reasonable until you realize it means every adult hands over their ID just to go online. We wrote about why this is a terrible idea and what should happen instead. https://proton.me/blog/keep-age-verification-from-killing-anonymity-online

"AI is an incredible force multiplier for implementation, but it’s a dangerous substitute for design. It’s brilliant at giving you the right answer to a specific technical question, but it has no sense of history, taste, or how a human will actually feel using your API." lalitm.com/post/buildin...
