I love the amount of people who get mad at this. Joe Biden did a genocide!!! If you wanna argue he’s not fascist you have to kinda ignore this fact! That’s before you get into his border policy, that more people were caged as of Jan 2025 than Jan 2021; he looted $6B from the people of Afghanistan!
What is and isn’t fascism is of course debatable (historically I’m hesitant to say Francoist Spain or Imperial Japan are fascism in the Nazi/Fascio way but I am sympathetic) but as a continuity between Trump 1 and Trump 2 the Biden admin is 1000% part of the fascist path
thinking about all the anti-abortion candidates I was ensured could be pushed left on and counting on one hand how many times this has actually happened
So we are supposed to believe that democrats are throwing trans people under the bus so that they win and then trans people will be safe because they are just fibbing?
Even putting aside the Islamic Golden Age of science and mathematics, one of the primary reasons we have access to a lot of Greek philosophy and mathematics from Antiquity is the result of Muslim scribes preserving that scholarship during the Middle Ages.
Most people don’t know this but you don’t have to floor it the microsecond a pedestrian has finished passing in front of your car. You are not legally bound to try and run over their heels. Spread the word.
For @ms.now I wrote about Josh Turek's proposal for trans health...
...only it was 10 months ago when the Trump administration proposed the same policy.
They later backed off the proposal.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
Not everyone should be satisfied with what's on offer right now. There has to be a bigger horizon than what anyone's going to get out of the midterms. Stop telling people to shut up about their rights. It helps no one. Do your work, whatever that is right now.
Someone remind me (someone who barely follows the Bulls anymore) why Caleb Wilson was available at 4 when he sounds (and so far looks like) a transformational talent for the franchise, please and thanks in advance
It’s unsurprising though. I have watched, for the past few years, Americans and Brits go, why should I care about people in Gaza, it’s not in *my* country, even as their tax money paid for the bombs levelling cities in Gaza, for the bullets shot at children.
I think you should care about other people no matter what country they’re from and if you only care about people from your own country you’re a bad person (but we already knew that about this egg-headed cunt)

okay but... the leaders in those other countries actively conspire with ours. the US actively tries to influence these races. Of course we care. we are obligated to care
The average American is ignorant on trans issues and has fallen prey to an impossibly well-funded campaign of anti-trans demonization. This trend would be easily reversible if the Democratic Party could manage to find a crumb of spine on this issue.
You can’t be a socialist without international solidarity with the global working class and all subaltern classes. You’re simply cosplaying otherwise to get cheaper buses or whatever.

There is no aspect of society, from the things you eat to the culture you consume to the consequences of political actions that isn’t felt across the world. It’s frankly Nazi-esque to only care about what’s happening in your own borders while we mulch the people of the global south

imagine a politician running an antisemitic campaign, and then YOU telling the Jewish people hurt by it that “well he’s running in a conservative state, so…”
Turek is running for Senate in Iowa, a conservative leaning Republican state.
And it is a very close race.
You have every right to criticize his position on this issue and in a perfect world I’d join you.
But let’s put that aside and help him win this race. Turek is still better than his opponent
It’s cool that we’ll have more discourse about “is cheesecake factory elitist?” than we will “should someone who is campaigning against the genocide in Gaza be on the trail with the Butcher of West Asia/North Africa”
And, most importantly, thanks to the vital mobilisation of young people. Students took to the streets the day after the first round elections, kickstarting massive movements that saw the largest public demonstrations in Brazil since the days of Diretas Já at the end of the military dictatorship.
It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.
