I wrote (Claude wrote) a little app I can invoke with a hotkey and type any number into, and it'll bring up GitHub issue numbers ranked by relevance and recency. Enter gives me a preview inline in the window, enter again opens the link on GitHub. Saves me a ton of time over the course of a day

Notifications CTAs are better in the next release of talat. Today, the "Dismiss" button carries equal weight with the secondary CTA ("Stop recording" in the second shot). The danger CTA state ("Delete recording") is completely new - a glaring gap in today's notifications ๐Ÿซฃ

We have thousands of unit and in-memory database tests on talat, but the stability of our end-to-end suite - which drives the real desktop application we ship to users - has suffered recently. Not anymore. Pleased to get this one green again ๐ŸŸข

Another talat dictation feature coming soon (built purely to scratch my own itch): refocus the *last* app you dictated into. Great when you're having e.g. an ongoing conversation with Claude and don't want to have to manually refocus your terminal to resume it

Looking forward to shipping this one. I can't count the number of times I've absent-mindedly hit escape during a long, rambling dictation and accidentally cancelled it. The next version of talat gives you two seconds grace to undo a cancellation and pick up dictating where you left off.

I selfishly snuck in a new @talat.app feature purely for ME. My home office is upstairs, my wife's is downstairs, and if we're both on a call with our doors open (summer - it's hot), speech from her room could occasionally leak into my transcripts. Well, not anymore ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I'm aware that the @talat.app pricing page is... awful. Each pricing tier is basically just a different way of paying for the same thing: there is no feature gating on different plans, so I can't do a classic plan vs. feature comparison table. Roasts in the thread, please ๐Ÿ‘‡

We built a tool for @talat.app where AI agents can upload screenshots with context (branch, commit, description, etc), and humans and AI can search the 'gallery' I love it. It's a durable, visual evolution of the product, and lets agents attach and 'see' screenshots on GitHub PRs

Back in March, @talat.app got hit with a Stripe chargeback - when someone disputes a charge directly with their bank. Disputes cost us money and do permanent reputational harm. As a vendor, the odds are stacked against you winning if you contest, and electing to contest costs you MORE money (1/...)

...unless you go on to win the dispute. This was my first ever chargeback in *years* of online biz, and I knew it was baseless. On principle, and mainly to try and learn from the experience, I gathered my evidence, and contested it, not expecting much. Today, we won that dispute. (2/...)

... while that feels AWESOME, 'winning' isn't quite the right term. Nobody wins. - the customer loses their money and their right to challenge further (I emailed them after they disputed, offering a full refund, they declined) - we still carry the mark of 1/N payments being disputed - ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ (3/3)

June talat highlights: - Dictation mode - File import mode - Better multilingual support, especially for non-latin and right-to-left languages - Improved capitalisation and punctuation during real-time transcription - A more capable MCP connector that writes to talat as well as reading from it

I'm sure I sound like a broken record at this point, but I am enormously proud of the latest talat release. Every significant release we ship makes the last one feel obsolete. And we've already got a ton more awesome stuff lined up for the *next* release.

talat.app@talat.app

0.13.0 is here and it is *huge*! - Chapters - Actions - Hugely improved multilingual experience - Faster, more accurate real-time transcription previews - Tons more over at talat.app/changelog We're closer than ever to 1.0.0 - there's never been a better time to grab talat at pre-release pricing.

So much work went into the 0.12.x release. We're getting ever closer to the elusive 1.0.0 milestone and the end of pre-release. I can't wait!

talat.app@talat.app

v0.12.0 is out! (And... so is v0.12.1). This includes a huge internal overhaul which hopefully you *won't* notice, and a ton of new features and refinements which hopefully you *will*. Download at talat.app

Woohoo! No more bumping into ultra-conservative Claude design limits. Might not be celebrating if/when Claude Design chews through my quota faster than usual, but for now, awesome.

This is a good one for anyone using either of the recently added Apple or Google Calendar integrations ๐Ÿ‘‡

talat.app@talat.app

v0.11.1 is out! Lots of calendar-related fixes and quality of life improvements - no major new features. Download at talat.app

Really proud of the latest talat release and the redesign we shipped last week. Big thanks to everyone who fed back on the old design and helped push us to create something better, and hopefully more futureproof as we head towards version 1.0.0 and beyond.

talat.app@talat.app

v0.11.0 is out, and since we were too busy to announce v0.10.0 properly, let's do that too: hellooo new design! There's too much to cover in a single post, but you can read the details over at talat.app/changelog, and take a look at some of the updated screenshots below ๐Ÿ‘‡

ICYMI, which you probably did, because both features - which are super useful - are currently stuck behind a context menu click (we're working on this in a forthcoming release)

talat.app@talat.app

Two features in v0.9.0 you might not have spotted: 1. Split a recording into two meetings, for when two conversations got captured as one 2. Merge two into one, for when a meeting got split (you stopped and restarted, or auto-stop fired too eagerly)

Who says you don't push to production on a Friday afternoon?

talat.app@talat.app

v0.9.0 is out! If you've already got talat installed you'll get the update shortly. New users can grab it from talat.app Full changelog below:

Almost couldn't fit the entire changelog in one screenshot this time for the v0.8.0 @talat.app release. We really do need to work on making these *smaller*, which would be better for my heart each time we do start preparing and regression testing each release! Feedback always much appreciated ๐Ÿ‘‡

talat.app@talat.app

talat v0.8.0 is out! Another big release, with several new features and an experimental status line (which isn't perfect and we'd love your feedback on). Full changelog here: talat.app/changelog

We're more conservative with our release schedule on @talat.app than I'd like to be. I'd love to be releasing every day. But the risk of bricking a desktop app install is real. I received this error when trying to auto-update my favourite push-to-dictate app, FluidVoice, just now. Desktop is HARD.

Is it just me who is hopelessly incapable of syncing their cal.com availability to reality? Every time I think I've nailed it, and added any upcoming availability exceptions, someone books the ONE slot I immediately realise I can't do. I need a cal.com to manage my cal.com

These small fixes make a big difference - keep an eye out for the 0.7.1 @talat.app update folks

talat.app@talat.app

talat v0.7.1 is out - this is an important update for anyone running 0.7.0 as it fixes a memory leak which would build up over time. Keep your eyes peeled for the 'update available' notification, or download manually from talat.app

Delighted to get this one out in the wild! The diff from 0.5.1 to 0.60 is ridiculous - it's way too big, making the release a little more scary than it needed to be, but I'm relieved we got there and excited to get it into the hands of our early adopters. Check it out at talat.app

talat.app@talat.app

talat v0.6.0 is out! This is a huge release - arguably a bit too big - but one we are super proud of. Read all about it here: talat.app/changelog
