I turned on the beta testing feature so that I could check out the notification tabs update and saw that they actually made a feature that I’ve been begging for: if someone likes 10 of your posts, you get one notification that says “person liked 10 of your posts”, not 10 separate notifications

I know it’s a tiny thing but with my long foster kitten threads sometimes I get 20 notifications that are all likes from the same person and if I have a post that blows up for some reason, it makes Notifications a nightmare. I can’t imagine what it’s like for big accounts.

My favorite anti-drug ads are all the ones that say they’re gonna make you have reckless behavior. I don’t need coke to make me get aggressive with a guy in the parking lot of the H-E-B, I can get that from listening to Chappell Roan sing Femininomenon

And in case you’re wondering why, it’s because of the two people coming out of the meathead gym with the “posing room“ it was NOT the fit young femme with the ponytail who decided to slowly swagger across the crosswalk while holding eye contact, though I wish it had been

I fussed at him for diving in front of my legs while I was walking and almost making me dump my boiling hot dinner all over him, but then I felt bad and gave him some mashed potatoes

Full disclosure: yes I DO get kitten food from the rescue but it’s a tiny tiny rescue and any food or supplies I buy help them by allowing them to give it to other folks in need. Also sometimes they just run out of wet food! Times are tough and kittens are HANGRY

Putting my phone on DND and I think I might have finally reached the point of not being friends with a friend anymore. I said something about you have to be rich in America to make money and they went on a diatribe about how everyone can create generational wealth if you SACRIFICE

I paid for groceries with Klarna because dealing with my doctor and seeing clients made me miss the window to go to the food pantry. I ask my dad for $20 for gas so I can go see clients and he gives me a ziploc baggie of quarters. How the FUCK do you tell me that we should sacrifice and work harder

Sorry for the rant, I’m just tired of very quietly suffering in the corner while people I deal with tell me to cheer up, or just save up for the things I need, and then when I get a little extra and treat myself to a fucking cookie they shame me

I went on my own diatribe about how my grandfather fucking swam across the Rio Grande and built his house with his own two hands and how my 72-year-old dad is looking for a job so how the fuck could they create generational wealth?my health is destroyed. How much more do I have to sacrifice?

There is no timeline in which my family could make it so that Sluggo and I are worth 1 to 5 million dollars. I chose paying my car payment and utilities over the second half of my rent and next month’s rent is due next week. How do I put money into savings when every penny goes to financing survival

It took y’all this long to catch up with Malt-O-Meal?

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Cheerios is boldly going where no cereal has gone before: a resealable Ziploc bag. The option will be available on Original and Honey Nut Cheerios beginning Tuesday, online at Walmart, before rolling out to retailers nationwide in the coming months.

Y’all. I would like to get rich for the specific purpose of buying an iced tea franchise (so I can hire all my broke queer and trans friends and sell GALLONS of tea to medical professionals) and drop $300 on a 10L self-flushing water system that uses wastewater to GROW CAT GRASS for our cats.

We could run college football promos with local artisan cup sleeve events, do the round up thing for neighborhood improvement, and advertise that our tea is made with only natural shit. And we’d be the only FW location too. We would CLEAN UP.

Sluggo and I have the tea thing totally plotted out too. We know where we’d put it that would capture • bougie college students • doctors and nurses out walking on lunch • people who want to shop local • crunchy granola people • people who wanna support queers

There’s an area where the medical district/Gayborhood/artsy folk/college student demographics all intersect called “Fairmount” here and it is the PRIME SPOT for a location of a Texas-based franchise run by Texans born and raised in this city. It’s even near Sluggo’s high school and my childhood home

As someone who has to drive for work, often in the evening, I am BEGGING you to watch your kids near the street. I drive about 12 mph in residential areas even in broad daylight because I am TERRIFIED of a child popping out - even at that speed it’s impossible to stop in time.

A reminder, because it is almost that time of year: More children are killed by cars on Halloween than any other day of the year, by far. www.vox.com/future-perfe... If you're a parent, I hope you'll do what you can to keep kids safe. If you're driving on Saturday, PLEASE exercise extra caution.

I truly truly wish we had safer places for kids to play just like I wish we had safe places for pedestrians to walk and accessible cities so more people could bike or walk. I would love to not have to drive 50-100 miles a day for work. But until we can put any sort of actual policy into effect…

…PLEASE watch your kids around the street and in parking lots. Not everyone is as paranoid/careful/hypervigilant as I am when driving and most of them don’t give two shits about kids or are so car-brained they’ll blame the kid (or adult) who gets injured.

I’ve had other cars zoom around me and honk because I’m going “too slow” when I’m at or below the speed limit which is a whole entire other thing but the times I’ve had to slam on my brakes and swerve to not hit a kid who ran into the street they have been fully unmonitored.

I don’t remember if I mentioned this to y’all but I am SO HYPE because I was accepted to the McCormick Seasoning consumer testing panel and today I receive my first test. I don’t know how much I can disclose but I will tell you it is thematically appropriate and both Sluggo and I are HYPE

I’ve gotta say though - she was definitely accurate to the majority of show dog breeders I’ve had to deal with. Terrifying. I’ve sat across from that exact woman and pleaded with her to feed her dog something other than ground turkey and cottage cheese and been shooed

Unfortunately, did not get anything close to a bingo on my card because it was not a tropey horror movie. It was good and fucked up, I do not think Sluggo cared for it, but this was an IFC films/Shudder fillum that I very much doubt he would have picked
