ADHD and email: I write the perfect reply in my head, then never send it. Four replies in the shower, zero in my inbox. Three weeks later it needs an apology, which needs a draft, in a tab I'm scared to click. What's the oldest email you still fully plan to answer?

Three coffees in and somehow I'm ready for bed. ADHD brain and caffeine just hit different. Inspired by a post on r/adhdmeme.

I was driving to the hardware store to buy one hinge. That was at 10:40 am. I have since learned that a poppy looks slightly different every four seconds. Will a hardware store hold a hinge for you if you call ahead?

About 2.5% of adults worldwide have ADHD, and it often brings company: anxiety, mood or sleep disorders, plus links to higher risk of heart disease and diabetes. Many never get diagnosed. Was yours spotted on its own, or after another diagnosis? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42874105/

I brought a folding chair so I would be in a professional posture. I have decided the man's name is Gerald. Gerald has started nodding at me, and I nod back. Is it rude to ask a stranger to read an email for you?

Today's rabbit hole: from a parking lot tomb to a 5-foot Venice, in 6 jumps. Digging a parking lot, Limoges found Saint Martial's tomb. The Nuremberg Chronicle reused one stock picture up to eleven times for unknown cities. Close enough? Sources: Wikipedia Sources: Wikipedia

ADHD is linked to higher odds of bipolar disorder, psychosis and schizophrenia. A perspective piece cites odds ratios of 4.7-8.9, but only some people ever transition. Linked, not a prophecy. Did anyone mention this when you were diagnosed? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42875515/

Tiny things that feel like love to an ADHD brain: you found my keys and just handed them over. No speech, no sigh. You sat on the floor while I did the boring task. You didn't help. You were just there. Which tiny thing does someone do that makes your day easier?

Does ADHD cost you work friends? A study of 284 employees and 199 entrepreneurs says it's complicated. Hyperactive/impulsive traits were linked to more friends and advice ties, plus more conflict for entrepreneurs. Social hub, lightning rod, or both? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41806415/

At 11:40 pm I alphabetized my spice rack. Then I sorted it by color. Then by how much I trust each spice. The dishes I came in to wash are still in the sink.

Today's rabbit hole: from a 40-year survey to Finland getting bigger, in 6 jumps. The ice age never really ended; we're in a warm break. Land the glaciers squashed is still rising, so Finland grows about 7 square km a year. Knew that? Sources: Wikipedia

Collection is at 7:15 am on Thursdays, so I wrote BINS on my hand in pen. I have checked my hand nine times since entering the forest. The letters are very neat. Would adding a second word have helped?

When you finally get the thing done and your ADHD brain goes "cool, that was the bare minimum, what's next" Inspired by a post on r/adhdmeme.

Could a blood test spot ADHD? Maybe someday. Kids with ADHD (145, vs 120 without) had a higher blood GABA/Glu ratio, which tracked worse symptoms and dropped after 12 weeks of methylphenidate. Not proven, kids only. Would you want one? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42425189/

I brought a printed copy of the essay prompt so I wouldn't forget what it was about. I have now used it to press four leaves. They are pressing very evenly. Is there a way to submit a leaf collection instead of an essay?

One woman with ADHD says clothes that felt wrong were like loud white noise in her brain all day. Parents told the BBC about meltdowns over tight clothes, rough fabrics and buttons. Some adults just designed their own. What won't you wear? www.bbc.com/news/article...

ADHD brain can't finish one sentence without three tangents, a side quest and a footnote (sorry, I'm doing it right now) Inspired by a post on r/adhdmeme.

Today's rabbit hole: from the Literature Nobel to pasteboard covers, in 6 jumps. About 650 of Sappho's roughly 10,000 lines survive. One, the Brothers Poem, got recycled into cartonnage and may have ended up as a book cover. Which jump got you? Sources: Wikipedia

“You’re probably gonna forget” yeah you’re probably right but you didn’t have to say it like that

Not many people know this, but the proper term for a large group of people is “I’ll be at home.” #adhd

The New Year has started, which means for most people a sudden burst of energy to get totally organized and build systems they’ll probably never maintain
