Michael Lynch (@mtlynch.io) has compiled here a wonderful list of essays about software that influenced him. The ones I’ve read (and I’ve read a few before) have all been very good.

embarrassed to discover vim's `textwidth` option so late. i have been literally reformatting lines manually (though it gives me something to do while thinking :P) so far. now it's just: `gqip` !!

When I first joined stackoverflow i was overwhelmed by all their rules, but eventually I realised it makes so much sense. I was rubber ducking the problem everytime I wrote a question. I would come up with a solution before clicking the Post button! SO gets a lot of hate but it got forums right

I have written many healthcare stories, but never before have I written about my own health. I decided to do so after learning one of my drugs costs nearly $1,000 a pill and just 25 cents to make. What I found was an incredible story of discovery and exploitation. www.propublica.org/article/revl...

This is another great example of how well @cloudflare.social is playing with the open source ecosystem: not a simple use case report but a full-fledged and generic new API proposal for @vite.dev. More companies should have dedicated teams actively working with open source projects like they do.
