I've intentionally left Discord, but there are PRs around that leave me with the feeling people are reading what I'm writing anyway I've tried this for an hour or so, and there are a few problems I immediately found:

star cutoff calculation is still incorrect (github.com/YARC-Officia...), most notably in 5-lane keys where a lot of things are double-counted this was already a thing, but it's probably more important now that career exists. the 5LK bot misses 5 stars on No Nations Expert 5LK by 1775 points

of course, the in-game autoplay doesn't have the best SP path, and it turns out 5 stars *is* possible by at least that margin at that point, while clearing your progress will clear your actual progress (I'm at 0/25 again), the song name is still crossed out on the list until I restart the game

actually if this glitchy repost is related to certain recent PRs then I should probably also mention the unique results you can get from failing in multiplayer while holding the SP button with enough SP, which is probably just a symptom of the game not force-releasing inputs when you fail

currently this doesn't let you pick 5-lane Keys charts, and picking a 5-fret Bass chart makes your maximum multiplier 4x (native 6-fret charts use 6x) also the default texture for black notes is rather shiny and it can be hard to tell the difference, especially with barre chords in the mix

...whatever, the whole point of nightly is that it's not perfect yet and at least it's an excuse to go searching for the 6-fret controllers I got when GHL came out; I'm sure I don't have the dongles for any of the 5-fret ones I have lying around but the ones for GHL are still *right there*

update: didn't find the controllers (or dongle) I was looking for, but found the MIDI adapter I used to use for RB3 Pro Keys (it's exactly as sticky as everyone else's is in 2026) and also the Rocksmith electric-guitar-to-USB-microphone adapter, which... it's something, I guess

I wonder if anyone has any actual numbers about Clone Hero's fail meter from what I can tell, it's a little shorter than YARG's, counts overstrums as a full miss (YARG counts them 1/3), has slightly stronger star power, and starts in the yellow instead of the green, but like, numbers would be nice
