OK now solo September is over can we get some props for the voice cast? What a bunch of magnificent bastards:

This was a lot of fun to record and it's great to share it now with listeners. Check the episode description in your podcast app for a (fairly exhaustive) list of timestamps. From bone magnets to mythic stews to railing against roads, you're covered.

In our latest episode we got @bastionland.bsky.social to discus the looooong road to Mythic Bastionland (and beyond). And now we gotta wait until ep 22 for his next guest spot 😅

Another great Solo September video from The Bad Spot. With so many TTRPGs to choose from, this kind of highlighting is really valuable 🤩

Coming soon: Ea-nāṣir Must Die! A Mark of the Odd adventure for 3–5 players. Inspired by the historical figure & meme, Ea-nāṣir. Ea-nāṣir is a copper merchant from Ur. Ea-nāṣir sold bad copper. Ea-nāṣir received many complaint tablets. Ea-nāṣir made many enemies. Ea-nāṣir Must Die! #ttrpg #osr

I was thinking it would be funny to respond to this with en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiendish_Freddy's_Big_Top_o'_Fun , which I played a lot as a kid, and then I read the Wikipedia page and thought that actually this is pretty much ready to run as a one shot.

Okay. You have unfortunately been hit with the curse that makes you adapt a work you liked as a kid into a ttrpg. What thing are you adapting?

Just finished listening to this. It's a great session zero! Sets expectations for the game really well, including what to *not* expect in the game (something I'm not used to seeing noted so clearly). I'm looking forward to session 1!

We have a good discussion here, digging into ideas that are relevant to any game that uses random spark tables.

A new Smiling Fox ep just dropped. It’s all about using spark tables in Mythic Bastionland. Come listen to us chat about helpful hawks and military pottery. smiling-fox.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/home.html

Great point here about how using gen AI to mimic existing stuff may limit what people imagine / explore.

Afraid of Encounters (He/Him)@isaacisafraid.bsky.social

I made a blogpost about this. Indonesian Tabletop RPG scene and The Quest for Generic "Authentic" Slop. The Indonesian Tabletop RPG scene has a Gen AI problem! afraidofencounters.bearblog.dev/afraid-of-co...

I recently used this painting of Joan of Arc annielouisaswynnerton.com/joan-of-arc-... to depict an NPC. If I used AI I might have asked for some similar features (her age, armour, etc.) but I wouldn't have thought to ask for that pose. It led my thoughts on that character in a different direction.

If Moria is the prototypical dungeon then the Barrow Down Wights is the prototypical GM fudges an encounter they’ve completely misjudged to avoid a TPK.

I played the preview version of this last year. Looking forward to digging into the full book 🕛

After nearly a year of development, the full version of Midnight of the Century is now available on @itch.io and @drivethrurpg.com. If you bought the No ICE in Minnesota charity bundle, you can download the PDF right now. byodinsbeardrpg.itch.io/midnight-of-... www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/5...

We finished our Boorman's-Excalibur-'em-up campaign of Mythic Bastionland last week, and Jim and I got together and shared our thoughts and general enthusiasm. It's a beauty.

An important decision when adding the chapters to this episode: "Does the discussion on talking to stones deserve its own chapter?" Yes. Yes it does.

I like the sound of these changes! I've tinkered with one move Ironsworn, and there's a definite appeal, but the extra support/guidance of dashboards is inspired.

Matt Risby 🔜 Dragonmeet@thebadspot.bsky.social

Have you heard? There might be some pretty big changes coming down the pipe for Ironsworn 2e. Luckily for you, The Ironsworn Guyz are here to talk about what it all might mean. Also mark my words, you'll all be screaming WITNESS ME! before you roll... youtu.be/oPs2Kg2fEHo
