A misunderstanding I'm seeing a lot with this. You can opt out across the board in your own user settings. This also doesn't affect any server with under 1k users or that has not applied for Discoverability. The potential and effects of this move is weird, though, but isn't heinous. Not yet anyway.

For visual sake, here's your server types. Whether you can join or not is not the meaning of private in this case. If you NEED a link/invite to join, you're not a public server. This includes Comm ones. A Public server can be joined via the discover button waaay at the bottom of your servers list.

It also isn't retroactive for some reason? I don't know exactly why, but whatever. They won't be pulling from older messages in these servers. I don't know if I'm wrong about this though since it doesn't make sense when most info you'd search for is stuff that's already been posted, you know?

So I'm officially in a CRISIS. My roommates are no longer able to house me due to financial reasons [one of them takes life saving medication that costs 500+ monthly, on top of rising rent]. I have 1 month to find a place in Western PA, or I'm forced to return to Texas. [I don't wanna go back.]

We hate these guys. I realize the date doesn't seem significant, but it's a pattern. art scam accounts join servers, select she/her, post an art and want to DM people asap. I just needed to check the join date to solidify my suspicion. #animated
