I feel for this young man and his generation. I won’t live long enough to see this damage undone but they (and my son) will be the ones dealing with the repercussions.

Food insecurity is ALWAYS a political choice. Famine is ALWAYS manmade. People go hungry because of other people’s decisions. We have more than enough food for everyone, and enormous amounts of it are wasted—literally thrown in the garbage—on purpose.

This is a beautiful new locker room at St Pius in Kansas City. They are a private religious school that accepts taxpayer vouchers for partial tuition. Anyway, the kids at the public school down the road from me learn to run track when they go to track meets — they don’t have a track of their own.

Nearly all my neighbors have SNAP or some government assistance. I didn't understand generational poverty until I moved here. My neighbor across the street dumpster dives and sells stuff from his front yard. Every couple of weeks he brings me these from a dumpster. I am worried for my neighbors. ♥️
