I just built an agent in Antigravity that analyzes my concert history over the last 3+ years and recommends new shows to see in my geographic area, ranked by potential interest, and then filters by 18+ or all ages, so I can take my daughter. Guess who is going to see a ton of concerts in November?

This PHP exploit is an example of how and why most people should not be administering their own server, and I specifically do not want to be. (I do run a server and have patched it.) Applying patches and watching security advisories is just not what I want to be doing with my days.

I saw Sergey Brin's blimp on the way to work while being passed in traffic by multiple driverless cars... is something you could say on any Tuesday in Silicon Valley.

Pretty impressive to have your job tenure be so short that your exit is still in the algorithm's collection related to your debut.

Expect an avalanche of new software because the dam has broken, one person who knows what they want, and understands UI design can make a big complex app in 2-3 months. Over a weekend you can snap together an app from common UI concepts. Think of making software the same way you play with LEGOs.

No more hallucinated references in California courts. Seems like an obvious first step. Just a minor reminder that California leads the country and the world, always.

As of Jan 2027, California requires every citation be "personally verified" by an attorney. Not every change I requested made it into the final text (in particular, excluding paralegals makes law more costly for all), but I'm proud that some changes made it in. www.ropesgray.com/en/insights/...

In the Web 2.0 era, when all of us were blogging, commenting and absorbing everyone's thoughts in RSS feeds, one of the most fun features was seeing shared items from our friends. I've set up @lgstream.bsky.social to bring back that Web 2.0 goodness. It's a fun way to discover new voices and ideas.

My favorite part of being a baseball fan is how exceptional the league is at making sure we are discussing potential work stoppages at a time when the very best teams are fighting for the World Series. No other league does this.

News: MLB sent a 34-page memo to owners and high-ranking officials across the league detailing what to expect — and how to act — during the lockout. MLB’s official website will again be scrubbed of player images. And no holiday cards for players after Dec. 2. www.nytimes.com/athletic/767...

Don't make me tap the sign. Just because a company is private does not make it a startup. OpenAI has raised $180 billion or so and has about 4,500 employees. This is not a startup. Ref: 2014: blog.louisgray.com/2014/06/the-...

@keithlaw.bsky.social every time I run into True Faith by New Order, I am reminded of your post from ages ago on Twitter that it was the one perfect song. My counter, albeit in agreement with yours, is Come Undone by Duran Duran. They are sister songs of sorts. Perfection of the era.

My daughter sent an innocent photo of her and her friend enjoying Lake Tahoe. I used AI to make it appear that she was driving a Cybertruck instead. Dad trolling for the win.

Was having a conversation with an early career teammate today, and Google Reader came up. I explained its history, needed as it was sunset when she was in fifth grade. Later, we were discussing upcoming concerts, and I said I'd gotten tickets to Moby at the Rose Bowl. Her: Who's Moby? 🪦
