Lost Angles CD printing is definitely rolling out soon, test prints came out looking pretty great. My goal is to have a silkscreen setup for disks by this time next year, but in the meantime the silver matte tops look great for detailed prints, especially black line art and cool textures!

Astoundingly media, at least tapes and records, aren't listed under this. But yeah, its wild. 9903.03.14 is defined as motor-vehicle related goods but lo and behold, 6109.10.00 , a cotton t shirt, is apparently now driveable. Just like 7117.19.90 Imitation Jewelry, and 8433.60.00, fruit sorters.

For all intents and purposes, t-shirts clear CUSMA trade restrictions without issue, however in my latest forray at figuring this out, I found it now falls under 9903.03.14 - ART OF CA IN SBDV (B)(3)NTE 51, or in english, the motor vehicles tariff????? its just a flat 50% lol wtf

However, I should note that for at least the cotton t-shirts that I stock for the DATA OF ME and Lost Angles logo shirts are sitting on a US duty charge of 76%!!!!!! Idk what kind of mobilizing power we have in the face of this but $50 just to ship a t-shirt to the states is fucking insane

For those concerned about the US-Canada trade war, as of right now it seems media may not be impacted. So tapes, CDs, records, etc shouldnt cost any more on the brokerage side than it did 2 weeks ago. That said this is all incredibly stupid and made up so that could totally change down the line.

The "great to have you back!" messages are very sweet and I appreciate them, thank you! I've uh, definitely never stopped shipping records this whole time lol but yes, back to the >regular< scheduled programming no less!

I do not intend to be contradictory at all, it is what the label was founded on, but about 99% of Lost Angle's 119 strong catalog is vaporwave, so while I'm still going to listen to all these demos and release whatever I like, I did list all those other genres for a reason...!!!

This is to say, because I've done this myself in the past, don't restrict what you want to submit as something that "fits the label" because I would like Lost Angles to be a lot more fluid than that. Go nuts, have fun with it!

Just a life update also from ya grl Hex, I recently lost my day job so things have been a little hectic as I sort things out, but are back in working order again as of today. It served its purpose so Im not drowning or anything, but I am eager to get some blood back into this incredible project

Funny enough, in the wide span of time between the occasional release, both myself and a bunch of LA alumni have gotten real nostalgic for vaporwave and eccojams again lol, so while I'd like to expand the vision, this music is still going to be celebrated under LA's roof!

Its been a long and bizarre road full of personal trials, but it really touches me so much how even in our most seemingly inactive years, we still receive continual support from people new and old alike, keeping this weird dream alive. So a huge thank you to ongoing supporters, this is all for you

Gonna open the floor again soon for submissions and headhunting very specifically for the revival phase of the print-on-demand tapes among some other new developments in the near future, like short-run home-screened t-shirts for various artists and potentially CD's down the line if they look cool!

I guess its technically always open but people haven't sent me anything new in some time, so if you would like to get ahead before I start making a big graphic for it, please send any submissions to lostangleslabel@gmail.com, and again, this is for PRINT ON DEMAND ONLY. Returning artists welcome!

Would you believe that Lost Angles has been active since this very day, 11 YEARS AGO?! Happy Birthday to this crazy label and the 109 releases up to this point, absolutely honoured to share this decade+ with so many incredibly talented individuals, and many more to come! Here's to 11 More!

These two are some of the most special I know, lend them a hand if you can!

FREE.99@free99.net

have spent 2 years cloistered working on new material. in that time, we lost our home and food stamps, but have persevered. we are nearly finished but have just run out of savings. need to go food shopping but are both overdrafted. if you can, please help - paypal.me/xfree99x or venmo greasysweet11

Also I'm feeling nostalgic lately for what got Lost Angles into the net music scenes to begin with, and @incarta95.bsky.social 's definition of what made us unique as doing print-on-demand cassettes was actually a really big deal. It meant we could represent people who only sell 1 tape AND 100

So I think its time we go back to the good ol' days, because too many times have I been forced to turn down great works that I couldn't justify even a run of 25, and that's kind of anti-art and not at all why we got into this and met the incredible people we have.

I don't have a direct timeline on this, but starting soon I'm going to buy a bunch of tape decks and get back to printing on demand for all releases moving forward. Cassette culture is meant to be for everyone big and small and I'm sorry I lost the vision of this for such a long time.

New release tomorrow and its pretty self-indulgent hence the lack of promotion, my garage-y pop punk band TRASHWYRE is releasing its first EP and I've admitted in the past to not taking advantage of releasing vanity projects on my net label 😅 Anyways, UMAMI EP dropping tomorrow @ 12PM EST!

Anyways, things may need to take slightly extra time while this capitalist shit show continues in full force while independent artists once again suffer the consequences. I'll do whatever I can to minimize the damage.

I am in no way eager to do business with Stripe when they monopolize online payments and use that power to openly discriminate against sex workers and LGBTQ+ people. I don't represent exclusively myself in this however so I have to weigh options accordingly. If only LA could be a physical store smh

I think I should make it really clear also that everything going on with the trade war and anti-LGBTQ+ payment processor policies slowly taking effect is really fucking unacceptable and I am openly exploring alternate measures that make sense for myself doing taxes and paying artists.

Just as well, our shipping service has updated terms for shipping to the USA now that de minimis has been killed for incredibly stupid reasons, so hopefully the absolute most interruptions you will see on the customer end is $1-$2 extra in shipping charges. CAD, im pretty sure.

As the good ol' times keep on coming, I'll be working on updating a bunch of stuff for LA, specifically (eugh) navigating the payment processor for the purposes of bandcamp purchases and payments to artists. Hugely sucks and could cause some temporary delays so apologies if that happens this week

Things have been slower on the new stuff and updates end with LA, I've mostly been just working on health + hormones stuff for the last several months but its more or less resolving now so I can get back on track to the things I love doing for you all. Thank you for these past ten years <3

I keep this account logged in only only personal computer as opposed to my mobile device so I haven't posted quite as often lately but things are still rolling as always! In fact, its been TEN YEARS of rolling?!?!?!! I missed the exact date, it was like mid-july (I was at TennoCon, sorry)

Big streamers have yet to show any interest in paying artists fairly, so when the biggest streaming service, Spotify, continues its efforts to disenfranchise artists and take the massive cut from their fairly earned revenue and invest millions into AI weaponry, we need to build a net to land in

As Spotify's owner continues his horrific endeavors into AI warfare funding, its crucial we continue to support artists choosing to drop off that despicable platform. Also super important that if some artists are really relying on that income to support them that much more to relieve the pressure
