A couple of unusual #vinyl pickups today from Value Village. Gramacks is reggae / calypso from Domincana. Kobza is a soviet era folk band from #ukraine who performed in Canada.

It's been a while since I found any "keepers" in the discount bin at the thrift store #vinylcommunity #vinyl #vinylpickups

The timeline on BlueSky is full of USians complaining about fuel prices with very little mention of price increases in other countries. There will be a refugee crisis because of these disruptions, but it's tragic USians are paying an extra $20 to fill their tanks.

I grew up as proud Hungarian diaspora. When Orban took the country back to autocracy things never sat right with me. While I never experienced directly anything negative because of it, I have always been hesitant to persue citizenship. Now everything has changed. Gratulálunk Magyarországnak

Chat GPT is glitching out is a weird way. Giving me random words in Hindi, Armenian, and Persian scripts.

Kelowna is a bit more conservative than the lower mainland. I am happy to see that the local poll is supportive of Eby's comments.

Tariffs on fertilizer. Saskatchewan has over 50% of the worlds reserves of potash. ruzzia and Belarus also have significant deposits, DT would be happy to give his friends the business but logistics are going to say otherwise. US farmers need to pay the tax or their yields will suffer greatly.

Today, Ukraine and the world commemorate Holodomor Memorial Day. In 1932-33, the criminal totalitarian regime of the Soviet Union carried out a famine genocide of Ukrainians and murdered millions. Over 90 years later, fascist Russia carries out another genocide of Ukrainians.

My biggest complaint with @bsky.app is that when someone responds to something that I wrote, it's impossible to know what I wrote that they're responding to. I want to be able to view the thread so that I can understand the context of their response.

Our YouTube community fundraiser has reached its goal of $1,000,000 in the first eight days! Thank you to everyone who continues to support Ukraine!

My great uncle Melvin Price, who defended the UK and helped to liberate Europe. I don't know much about his service, only that he worked in the medical department carrying the wounded off the battlefield.

📚 Want to write a novel, but can't finish the first draft? I'm creating an online community especially for you! If you fit the description, it would be great if you'd complete the survey to help me find out what people want/need. Please share! Thanks 🩷 #writer #writers #author #authors #write

This is exactly what media are doing with the C.Kirk thing. Completely whitewashing just how horrible a human he was. The sad part about his death is that you cannot debate or argue with a dead person. The perfect metaphor.....

Recent pick ups. Hawkwind has the most incredible album art that I have ever seen. They are not the standard envelope type sleeves but fold out to reveal some crazy images. #vinyl #vinylpickups #hawkwind #spacerock #psychedelicrock #lemmy #motorhead

The movement no longer holds the dignity of a movement. It has completely turned into robbery, looting, and murderous intent. The real infiltration began this afternoon. Later, history will judge how many years Nepal has been pushed back. This is very wrong. It is happening right now. #peace

Thank you, I am honored that you remembered! I apologize for not knowing when your is

Mid 80s growing up in rural Saskatchewan this was one of the first albums to speak to me...being poor, not fitting in..."Someday" was my theme song as a teenager. I picked this up at a garage sale today, very happy to have it in my collection. #VinylCommunity #NowSpinning #SteveEarle #AltCountry

It is always fun to pick up an album that one never knew existed and discover that it is awesome, especially when it is very obscure. This is on an indy label from Dallas TX. I have no idea how it wound up in Kelowna BC. #vinyl #thiftstore #NowSpinning #PostPunk #ShallowReign #ObscureBands

I was 10-12 in the peak of "Hulkamania". I couldn't articulate it at the time but my revulsion to him was due to the absolute hollowness of toxic masculinity. I cheered for Piper, he was flawed but at least he was relatable. Hogan was ahead of his time, but not in a good way.

I am sure that the other side is messing with this unscientific poll so I don't feel bad putting it out for other people to mess with. www.castanet.net/news/Poll/56...

This is what Freedumb looks like. www.castanet.net/news/Alberta...

Happy Canada Day! Prime Minister Mark Carney said it best: “Canada is the most European country outside Europe.” At a time when democracy and cooperation are under pressure, exploring deeper integration with Europe—even imagining Canada as the 28th EU state—is a bold, future-oriented vision. 1/2

Is this really me?😂 Duck story! #duck #pond #Kelowna #pondkelowna #nature

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people: 1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money 3) We won’t need a lot of troops 4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq 5) We’ll find WMDs 6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators 7) It will be easy 8) It won’t take long All lies.

Found yesterday, possibly my best garage sale find ever. #analog #vintagelens #dreamlens #garagesale #thrift

I am an atheist and detest the RCC, but am weirdly fascinated with the process of picking of new popes. I'm sure that it was even cooler in the good ole days when the winner would have control over armies as one of their perks.

First time eating an orange from Spain...wow...ones from Florida are nothing in comparison. Thank you to Donald Trump and his idiotic policies, they've given me a wonderful experience.

It's interesting how in the last few months Canadas official animal has gone from a beaver to a Canada goose. Beavers are hard working and mind their own dam(n) business. Geese are nasty creatures that you really don't want to mess with.

If you believe that I have a T-14 Armada to sell you

The results were a bit bittersweet as the CPC vote did increase and the NDP was decimated, still it is a loss for Trump and I will celebrate that fact. Locally the Liberal candidate is ahead, I guess that this will be a recount.

Ukraine has been holding the line against fascism for the last 3 years. While our fight is not as existential or violent, today is Canadas turn to do our part to keep the monsters at bay.

I picked up a nice #vinyl lot, these are some of the heavy hitters. Mostly #blues #psychedelic and #prog. #vinylcollection

Ukraine has serious cards to play, they could seriously damage ruzzias oil exports by targeting ports and ships. They haven't yet because they didn't want to trigger a price crisis. Ukraine could likely fast track nuclear weapons if they wanted to.

My riding is traditionally conservative. Flipping it red looks like a possibility. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

The Trump regime's ICE forces attacked a couple and smashed their window to abduct 29-year-old Juan Francisco Méndez, who hadn't committed a crime, while he waited for his lawyer. Regime forces can be seen attacking the civilians with a sledge hammer. #3E

The Liberals are ahead in my riding, which is traditionally blue!

Interesting #vinyl pick ups today. These are Taiwanse #bootlegs of #thedoors and #jeffersonairplane. The vinyl looks good but the sleeves look like cheap photocopies. I love obsure things so these are keepers!

It wouldn't surprise me to see a ruzzian disinformation campaign on the integrity of our elections. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Is the cybertruck the Ford Edsel or the Ford Pinto, or something else all together?

It is important to get the word out on the firing of @rachelgilmore.bsky.social by @ctvnews-rss.bsky.social because they cowardly gave into far right trolls. Rachel tells her side in this video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdPi...

Something good about a US recession is that the pain will be magnified in ruzzia. Their economy is on the edge of ruin and this might push it over the edge.
