500 episodes is so Many! Thank you to anyone who has ever listened to an episode, it’s awesome to get to talk about magic every week to a devoted audience!

What’re you at?

You know it’s getting bad out there when it’s making Sam mad

It's a real shame when you peak during Early Access, but I doubt I'm gonna top this 3x Planeswalker UR Beauty @bsweitz123.bsky.social Looking like a banger so far

My wife went back to work today and waiting for her from her co workers was a bag of baby clothes, some kids books and this bit of nightmare fuel

I will continue to make the claim that no one has companioned in limited more than I have and it's not remotely close Also Lurrus + Roots in limited is so sick

Farming contender drafts (and subsequently my interest in them) is dead!

Tonight, my son asked to listen to the track “Sewer Surfin” from Turtles in Time while brushing his teeth Radical

MTG creators: do you use any special equipment for creating short form content on the go? Any microphone/camera/lighting recommendations, or do you just have an “iPhone will do” approach?

A+ take, no notes

If it’s not too late, please @magic.wizards.com do not make people who had years and years of HoF eligibility eligible again without multiple new top finishes. Let’s focus on how great JED is not whether Wyatt Earp really did clean up the game in 1988 or whatever.

@frankkarsten.bsky.social has been excellent on the news desk, especially with regards to the limited deck run downs, really succinct and informative reviews of the decks

I’ve wanted to do this kind of episode for about a year now and I’m so happy with how this turned out! Check out the “Draft of Drafts” episode now! Huge thanks to @chordocalls.bsky.social @sampratt.bsky.social and @NicolaiBolas for joining! youtu.be/s8U-yBkH6Wo?...

Got to sit down with @jimdavismtg.bsky.social who, in my opinion, is the hardest working man in MTG show business. I’m a huge fan of Jim’s content and it was a pleasure to get to pick his brain this week on Lords of Limited, check it out! youtu.be/aRiRH-UFE3k?...

YAHTZEE

Today is a momentous day for the workers of Arena! After months of planning, waiting and organizing, our dream is finally a reality; the votes have been counted, and our union of UWOTC-CWA has been officially elected. From this day forward, we have a union!

I got an extra special gift today for Father’s Day, welcome to world Rosalind/Rosie!

The LOL Cube's first iteration is live. We've drafted it 4 times in the past 2 weeks. I'm hooked. I get it now @andy.luckypaper.co and @anthony.luckypaper.co Thanks for all your help!

Wait does this mean that the Arena Limited Championship isn’t even a silo’d event? Will these people at least be drafting and playing in pod? What is this thing???

Figured since this is likely to be the room I podcast from for a long time, it was time to do some serious sound proofing!

Anyone heading to SCGCON DC and have 3x Wistfulness and 1x Cori Mountain Monastery for trade/sale, please let me know. Have someone from our discord looking them and would love to help them out!

This is true clown behavior. I stand with the Arena Team and their efforts to unionize!

We are doing an @lordsoflimited.bsky.social Q and A episode for when I'm on my honeymoon and Ethan is on paternity leave. Hit us up with your questions (Magic or otherwise) below, and we'll try to get them on the show!

8 hours later, the movers are done. First meal in the new house!

Moving Day!

Had a rough day but also made this banger Salad Nicoise so I’ll call it a wash

“Is a hot dog a sandwich? The answer is go f*** yourself.” Had me howling in the car this morning. Big agree @anthony.luckypaper.co

My friend referred to “buying a house, selling a house and having a baby” as the adult triathlon. Doesn’t feel too far off We’re in the middle of leg 2 and getting fast offers on the house is a MASSIVE relief

if you build it...

Any loners out there qualified for Historic Arena Champs and need some people to test with? I’ve got a few folks from the LOL discord looking to gather and I’m happy to connect!

Young Sherlock: “what if we did Smallville but British and Good Will Hunting with a splash of Peaky Blinders?”

Huge thank you to @andy.luckypaper.co @anthony.luckypaper.co for introducing me to this incredible clip this week, somehow this slipped through my ebaumsworld cracks as a youth. Incredible start to the episode and this week www.youtube.com/shorts/pVb55...

The fourth and final region for our round of 64 is here with Mythic Uncommons!

Voting for our Third Region of March Madness is underway. This bracket: Synergy Commons!

Day 2 of March MTG Madness brings us to the Bombs Bracket with some of the most busted rares (and 1 sneaky mythic) in limited history! Wanna join the voting and discussions? Come join our discord!

Clean 7-0, this format is GOATed

Oh companions, how I've missed you!

Travel stress aside, @shoebox.gg was a great event! Good vibes, teaming with @stryxfamiliar.bsky.social and @sampratt.bsky.social was a delight as expected and hanging with @ggards.bsky.social and his crew all weekend ruled capped off by an Oscar Watch Party last night. Til next time!

Tumultuous travel day (4+ hour delay) but we made it and sitting down to a good looking dinner at Vinai!

I’m really excited for this tournament. Seeing lots of friends, scratching the competitive itch with team limited, and going to some dope looking restaurants. T-36 hours til I leave!

9 MTG cards that made me!

Small Sets are gonna be the death of our podcast. Spent an hour yesterday mapping out the schedule of episodes for the year and there are just multiple 4 week chunks of "????" because three releases this year are small sets...

Generational taste is really interesting. My parents and in-laws seem to respond way more positively to things that are rigidly one genre or tone like “Hamnet than something like “Sinners” or “OBAA” both of which I loved. I wonder when my tastes will calcify…

Uhhh arena you good?

If anyone is looking to pick up this deck for whatever reason (I think it's really fun, resilient, and actually kind of broadly misunderstood) here's my sideboard mapping I came up with for the tourney docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

This is healing

The Limited Championship Qualifier on arena is an absurd structure, feels lottery ticket adjacent. I hope the team rethinks the "bo1, 1 loss to give" format in the future because I think it's a horrible player experience. Won't be participating next time if it's the same.
