For developers: a debugger beside the running Amiga with reverse stepping, a bus-cycle frame analyzer, GDB, VS Code source debugging, profiling, an MCP server, and now WinUAE-style debug output ports. 🧵 4/5

It boots with the bundled AROS ROM, runs WHDLoad games directly, and has save states, rewind, run-ahead, CRT shaders and rollback netplay for up to four players. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, in a browser and in RetroArch. 🧵 2/5

New since the release candidate: Smart framing brings off-centre pictures like the CD32 boot logo into view, native 1:1 screenshots, VHD hard disks, window and monitor options, and an AGA sprite fix for Castlevania AGA. 🧵 3/5

The bundled AROS ROM is refreshed: no more sheared hires screens. The manual was checked against the program, which also fixed some debugger register decodes. High-density floppy images are now refused instead of crashing the guest. 🧵 4/5

Desktop netplay now seats up to four players. Players 3 and 4 use the parallel-port four-player adapter, as they would around one Amiga. The host relays everyone's input, so only the host needs to be reachable. 🧵 2/5

The debugger can now watch device registers such as Akiko's and the CIAs', logging each CPU access with its value, PC and beam position. A new trace times every command the CD32 sends its drive, from issue to last sector. 🧵 3/5

The host shares the machine setup and game files. Floppy changes stay in sync too, so there’s no need for both players to find the next disk. You can play desktop to desktop, or browser to browser. 🧵 2/5

I’ve also rebuilt the debugging workspace. The Amiga screen sits beside the CPU debugger, Frame Analyzer and Console. You can inspect a frame, edit memory and see what the machine is doing, all in the same window. 🧵 3/5

Copperline’s latest release now supports AmigaVision via the built-in LIDE support — so if you ever tried using AmigaVision with this emulator, this 0.18 release makes it work!

A brand-new Amiga game is being developed with Copperline beside real hardware. @brazengameplay.bsky.social's field reports from building UrbX Warriors drove several of 0.16.0's accuracy fixes and features. Details on our release post: www.patreon.com/Copperline/p... #Amiga #gamedev #retrogaming

Lots of fun toys coming to Copperline 0.16, including a redesign of the 1084 look. For now, here is Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge running from today’s build. Fun fact: that car was built near where I live. #Amiga

Copperline 0.15.0 is out: a Roland MT-32 built into the #Amiga's MIDI port (front panel and all), real host hard disks handed to the machine, BSD sockets with no guest stack, native IPF + CHD images, and an authentic 1084 monitor bezel. www.patreon.com/Copperline/p...

Copperline’s web version is currently broken. A bad version accidentally got deployed and then GitHub broke, so I can’t deploy the fix. On a positive note, visual improvements are queued up for it. I apologise for the inconvenience.

It may have been overkill, but I took the datasheet of the Philips tube used in the Commodore 1084 monitor and used it to recalculate the angles of the CRT shader in Copperline. This is almost ready to be included in the next release. #Amiga

Copperline #Amiga emulator 0.11.0 is out! New features since 0.9.0 include video and audio debugging, debug console and video underlay on the frame debugger. Nearly 300 commits, 23 new features and 59 bug fixes from 0.9.0 to 0.11.0, we have come a long way.

Part of life of my wife having a shop is that Square regularly breaks things. This time they have broken some of the sales reporting tools. Today I got GPT to make a tool for her called "Round Peg". It uses the API to fill the hole Square put in their reporting tools for her 😂

Version 0.10.0 of Copperline is out, a massive 256 commits between 0.9.0 and 0.10.0! I do not recommend anyone but developers use this release yet. A lot of the chipset code has been re-written and it has introduced regressions. Bug fixing will be the next beta focus. #Amiga
