@mississippifreepress.org has been on Kohen Wiley's story from the start. Foster resigned after his bodycam came out, and he's still certified. Follow them.

Mississippi Free Press@mississippifreepress.org

Senatobia Police Officer Hunter Foster has resigned after the release of his bodycam footage depicting his fatal shooting of 1-year-old Kohen Wiley on June 14. The Mississippi Attorney General's Office announced the shooting was justified on Oct. 19. buff.ly/wJ6Jlqq

Mississippi's AG called it "justified" when a cop fired into a passing car and killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley over alleged diapers. He quit two days later, still certified, so another department can hire him. The AG has cleared police in 82 of 86 shootings. She's running for governor. Watch now:

Democrats just asked a federal court to toss the DOJ's lawsuit to block Alaska's Senate certification if the Republican loses. That suit led my This Week in Tyranny. Follow @democracydocket.com, they've been all over it.

🚨 BREAKING: Democrats asked a federal court to throw out the DOJ's unprecedented lawsuit that seeks to preemptively block certification of Alaska’s U.S. Senate race if the Republican incumbent loses.

My Gilead Gazette led with this, and @marisakabas.bsky.social had it first. Ramaswamy put Amy Acton's mother in an ad about her childhood abuse, and Trump called it "hitting pay dirt." Read her.

Marisa Kabas@marisakabas.bsky.social

New — I wrote about Vivek Ramaswamy’s weaponization of Amy Acton’s childhood sexual abuse and how it’s only the latest symptom of a Republican party flush with rape apologists, led by an adjudicated rapist:

The Gilead Gazette: Trump calls an ad smearing a child abuse survivor "hitting pay dirt," abortion bans tied to more women murdered, ICE denies a pregnant woman care, a man gets $67,500 over his ex's abortion, and both parties target trans kids. Watch:

The reporting behind my Yosemite video. Firefighters are dying on fires that could be left alone, by order. Read @partlowjosh.bsky.social

The Atlantic@theatlantic.com

The Trump administration has mandated that federal firefighters pursue a policy of “full suppression” on every wildfire, @partlowjosh.bsky.social reports. He explores the sometimes fatal dangers of this aggressive approach:

Two firefighting pilots died on a remote Yosemite fire burning away from every home, under Doug Burgum’s order to put out every wildfire. $55 million, zero buildings burned, zero prescribed burns this year. And air tanker companies, like one a GOP senator founded, are cashing in. Watch now:

My latest video was built on this @washingtonsun.com scoop: Treasury's plan to go after defaulted student loan borrowers, timed for after the midterms. Go follow them.

Trump administration officials are preparing to impose financial penalties on millions of Americans in default on their federal student loans next year, according to five sources familiar with the matter. www.washingtonsun.com/economy/trum...

Trump's Treasury plans to seize tax refunds, Social Security and paychecks from nearly 10 million defaulted student loan borrowers. A source told The Washington Sun doing it before the midterms would be "politically insane." Two-thirds of those borrowers live in states Trump won. Watch now:

I did a whole video on Flock last week. Now a federal judge says a cop's "I just started running her info on Flock" search was unconstitutional, and the evidence is tossed. 404 Media has the footage.

404 Media@404media.co

The way that the cop came to this conclusion was unconstitutional, U.S. District Court Judge Sara Hill ruled, and all of the evidence—including the car’s travel history and everything the police found—must be disregarded in court. www.404media.co/watch-footag...

The park superintendent found out about Trump's golf course from social media. Now Interior's chief of staff says he learned from Truth Social too. Nobody reads memos anymore, they just doomscroll the boss.

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

🚨 Trump’s golf course hearing took a stunning turn as a top Interior Department official claimed he learned about Trump’s construction plans from Truth Social. The judge also ordered him to preserve his personal phone after a surprising revelation about who was sending him golf course designs.

Elon put $158 million behind Ken Paxton in one month. ProPublica on what Paxton's allies want from that Senate seat: more abortion restrictions, nationally.

ProPublica@propublica.org

NEW: In Texas, Ken Paxton successfully defended a near-total abortion ban before Roe v. Wade was struck down, and he blocked federal guidance for emergency abortion care. His allies see an opening to further restrict abortion if his Senate bid is successful.

Vance is hunting Lamborghinis. ProPublica found the real SNAP fraud: crime rings robbing families. I built a whole video on this one.

ProPublica@propublica.org

Vice President JD Vance likes to cite food stamp recipients who he says drive Lamborghinis. But the White House ignores a far more prevalent form of fraud: transnational gangs stealing money from SNAP recipients.

FBI documents show a pay-to-play investigation involving Susan Collins was moving. Then Trump shut down the unit running it. ProPublica dug in anyway.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: No Kings organizer Ezra Levin SOUNDS ALARM after Meta suspended the movement’s Instagram during nationwide protests. LEVIN: “We might be seeing something similar from Meta in our country right now.” “We're not gonna stop organizing against this regime.”

Meta locked the No Kings Instagram in the middle of a nationwide day of action, then blamed posting at "very high frequencies." No Kings says it posted a handful of times. Zuckerberg's systems are relaxed about a lot of things. Organizing against Trump apparently isn't one of them. #NoKings

Who is the government holding in its shelters for “unaccompanied” immigrant children? Turns out, a growing number of these kids were taken away from loving parents and other relatives.

ProPublica found crime rings stole $470 million in SNAP benefits last year from families who need help buying groceries. Chip cards would stop most of it. Congress won't pay for them. Meanwhile JD Vance is out hunting Lamborghinis.

ProPublica@propublica.org

NEW: Fraudsters stole $470 million last year from Americans who need help paying for food. Adopting the same microchip that credit cards have had for years would prevent most of the theft, but Congress won’t pay for it.

JD Vance keeps hunting for Lamborghinis on food stamps. Crime rings skimmed $470 million in SNAP benefits from 990,000+ families last year, the fix costs less than half that, and the Trump administration cut the money for it. Victims get nothing back. Watch now:

A party that will trade away trans people for votes will trade away whatever you care about next. Erin's been saying it. Listen.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Just a reminder that when Dems turn against trans people for power, it's also a reminder that they'll do other things for power that you might not like too, such as supporting billionaires.

A judge just ordered the Trump administration to stop buying taxpayer-funded ads starring Trump. I covered him raiding the border budget for these. Follow @democracydocket.com for the paper trail.

Democracy Docket@democracydocket.com

The Secretary of Defense's firing squad livestream led my This Week in Tyranny. @jonathanlarsen.bsky.social got @rephuffman.bsky.social on record: it raises legal issues and merits impeachment. Follow Jonathan.

Jonathan Larsen@jonathanlarsen.bsky.social

EXCLUSIVE @rephuffman.bsky.social tells me that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's remarks about Nidal Hasan's executions raise legal issues with livestreaming it. And that they merit Hegseth's impeachment.

Homeland Security raided Rep. Ilhan Omar's home before dawn today, three weeks before an election she's on the ballot in, over her immigration paperwork. After months of smears from Trump, Vance and DHS, this is what intimidation looks like. If they'll do it to a member of Congress, who's next?

Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day. On Friday, Trump bragged "I resurrected Christopher Columbus." That same day his BLM let oil companies explore the Western Arctic with no environmental review, four miles from the Iñupiat village of Nuiqsut. Committed to the bit, I'll give him that.
